This seems very possible, but completely couterproductive.

Just got done reading through all 214 pages. Took me cpl days, but Def enjoyed it. Tyvm to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I currently live in Vegas & work ft & grind smaller $100-$500 mtts. Ive been backed by Ari bodogari Engel & friends for a year now. The live grind is brutal, esp while working 160 hrs at a 9-5. I put in decent amount of mtt volume pre BF & can't seem to get used to/ like the American only sites. Goal is to save up & try to move down asap. Prob looking @ 6-9 months unless I ship something sooner. Has anyone drove down with a uhaul or something similar? Does anyone know what's exactly needed to bring pets down, just certain paperwork from vet? Thanks for all the work put in by others & entertaining me for last few live donkaments.

Re: Official Rosarito Thread

Is anyone curently in Rosarito interested in watching the All-Star game on Tuesday? We don't have a TV, and I'm looking for a place to watch it. Preferably not a bar because I'm a huge baseball nerd and I want to hear the announcers talk about how Andrew McCutchen is the best thing since sliced awesomeness. Thanks.

(I realize I could stream it online, but the feed will likely suck, and I was wondering if there were any baseball fans here.)

You might try the sports bar on the blvd. (just north of Smart & Final).

I'll watch the game with you, but would need a ride home (I'm about a mile away from the sports bar).

You could watch the game at my place (assuming it's on ESPN in Mexico), but it's probably not ideal, because I smoke and don't have a sofa, only an extra wooden chair with some cushions.

BTW, I don't really follow baseball these days, but was a total sports nerd at one time and followed all of the major sports. You can fill me in about the current stars, while I bore you with tales of players from before your time or something.

Re: Official Rosarito Thread

Went into Santander the other day to try and open a USD account using my Telnor contract but none of the tellers spoke English, will I have better luck trying again when there might be different employees working or is it a must to have a Spanish speaker with me? Just wondering what everyone else has done.

If i relocate to mexico from usa, but I've never had a stars account myself..would I still be required to go through the proof of residence hassle after starting a new account?

I brought a Spanish speaker with me when I opened my peso account at the Santander branch on the south end of the blvd., and my experience has been that they don't speak much English at all at that branch.

I thought you couldn't open a second account in your own name? I think many have found an obvious way around this, since there seem to be many accounts in Canada/Mexico that are probably former U.S. players.

I'm down. If anyone else wants to join in and watch the game, that would be cool. I don't have a car but I'll probably just walk to the bar, I'm also about a mile out. Cab rides are like $3.

Thumbs down Re: Official Rosarito Thread

Review of the Rosarito Remax and one of their real estate agents: Jose Lopez. (Stay very far away)

Last September me and two other poker players rented a unit at Las Olas Grand from Jose Lopez through the Remax in Rosarito. During our tenancy we had virtually no interaction with Jose Lopez as he was rarely in the Remax office when our rent was due. With one exception we paid our rent to different employees in the Remax office. The day our lease was up and we were scheduled to move out was no different. Jose Lopez was not in the Remax office and we were told that he would not be there that day. We were instructed to leave our keys and told that our security deposit could be wired to the USA after the unit was inspected.

After a week went by one of our roommates went to the Remax office to see what was going on as they had yet to contact us. Jose Lopez told our roommate that we had broken the tv and that paintings were missing from the walls. Neither of these allegations were true and Jose Lopez later retracted both charges but they are indicative of how he operates. In the 3 months it took to receive part of our deposit back Jose Lopez fabricated other absurd claims on virtually every occasion I spoke with him. From towels he claimed were missing, when we actually left some of our own towels behind, to tv remotes that were never included with the unit and bills that we had already paid. Jose Lopez seemed intent on fabricating enough charges so as to steal our entire deposit. Even after Jose Lopez admitted in email that he owed us money from our deposit he continued to attempt to fabricate new charges months after we had already moved out and while he was in violation of our lease which allowed him 21 days to return our deposit.

Another real estate agent in Rosarito heard about the issues we were having with Jose Lopez and spoke with the owner of the Remax and I am not sure we would have received any of our deposit back without his help. Eventually we received part of our deposit back over 3 months after we had moved out. If any of you are currently renting from Jose Lopez or this Remax I wish you good luck in getting your deposit back and I would advise you to not pay them last months rent. This agency does not abide by their own lease agreements so neither should any of you.

Cliffs:
Rented a unit from Jose Lopez/Rosarito Remax
Upon moving out Jose Lopez continuously fabricates charges against our deposit
Jose Lopez violates our lease and keeps our deposit for more than the 21 days allowed by the lease
Another real estate agent in Rosarito pressures the Remax to return our deposit
3 months after we move out we receive part of our deposit back
