Re: Official Rosarito Thread

Depending on where you live you might be able to do 5-10k loops on the beach. I lived up north last time and the beaches were white sand and were unobstructed for miles. Its more rocky further south and a bit more crowded so i might have to look for something else. Ill prob just find some loop through town to jog. I doubt theyre gonna have too much in the way of public parks and trails so youll prob have to improvise.

Re: Official Rosarito Thread

Hey, i'm looking for a house/appt with other players, i've read through pretty much all the recent mexico threads and rosarito seems the most appealing mainly due to the community already there and cost of living.

Only thing is the beach situation, as i'd be treating it as a part holiday (i.e. rest) as i've grinded with barely any days off the last years, but it seems there's not much of a beach out there or it's reserved for residents etc.

My situation:
100nl/200nl 6max/fr grinder looking to stay for at least 2months from august, but length of stay and start time are 100% flexible as have no tie-downs.

Reason for post is to get an idea of available houses/appts with other grinders or others who are looking to move out there as well. Feel free to PM or post, Cheers.

looking forward to meeting some of you. a little about myself. im 23, i play mtts for a living, i will mostly be spending my time down here grinding, but looking to meetup with people with similar interests outside of poker

id def be down to split some organic foods rusemandingo, just let me know what i need to do and im in

as far as hobbies and stuff go, i like to run. are there any 5-10km routes around the the town that anybody knows about? ive looked at some running community stuff online and there seems to be, i guess im just unfamilar with the city still and cant figure it out. even boliver told me about a 1.7mi run to the boardwalk but then i couldnt figure it out. one of my main goals in moving to roasrito is to strike a balance of physical and mental health, so ill be exploring yoga and meditation as well (doesnt get much better than the beach by the tidepools)

i also like a lot of live music, so any good venues in SD i'm always down to check out

im not too much of a party person/heavy drinker. had a few nights in TJ already and pretty much over it, bonfires and beers on the beach are more up my alley

anyone living down here feel free to add me on skype: marty.mathis

i plan to be here for awhile. will be gone for edc next week, then for main event, other than that ill be around
Will be watching for another one of your epic WSOP trip reports.

Were you in Cabo for awhile?

Noticed so Q's about food and Wal Mart. Definitely NOT the place to buy groceries or produce. Try Comercial on the other side of the bridge by McDonalds for general stuff. On Sat & Sun you should check out the flea markets. There is one on Blvd Guerrero every Saturday and another on the free road towards TJ on Sunday. Great places to see chicks, find stuff for the house and buy veggies/fruit etc. I go every weekend so if you cant find it or just want to follow me over there PM me

fwiw walmart has better deals on fruits. I mean their deal on strawberries is ridiculous. But will agree with comercial norte (not centro) overall.

I used to be a big Pro Comercial and anti-walmart guy. But the produce at walmart just always seems to be better quality anymore.

That saranita place or whatever it's called is still my favorite for produce nearby (still don't know where your places are) but out of the two big stores I think Comercial's produce is a little weak at times.

saw nobody responded....idk what u think is cheap, but you can buy a board for like $200 in SD used. I'm guessing it'll be at least $100 to rent for a whole month (just a guess) but why not just buy one and slang it out when you bounce?

fwiw usually cheaper to fly into SD if its a domestic flight...but I had to pay like $40 for a taxi from TJ airport to here, which is kinda redic as it's only $20 normally, although the airport is a bit further (10 mins, i got hustled, but it was 3am and i'd been travelling for 24 hours).

oh, palacio del mar. people still live there besides shaniac?

From what iv seen, nobody lives here, except for the little man at reception. Are you surfing K38 or 'daves place's' wave tomorrow? im compleatly lost in terms of where to surf and what not. I should be up for it anyway. robswaine on skype btw
