Hi Guys, I live in australia in early thirties.
I am thinkning of living for 3 months in PLaya.

The problem is I have pretty much zero spanish. What do you guys reckon?

Some things Id like to do whilst there:

-Find a reasonably priced studio/1 bedroom pad
-Meet up with other expats
-Go out, meet locals, girls a bit of party etc
-Sign up for some martial arts training to get into shape (im okayish right now but want to gain some muscle and lose a bit of fat)
-Experience the life of south america as I have never been before

Dunno about the martial arts but you can def accomplish everything else no problem. Easy to learn a little bit of Spanish, you probably already know more than you think just from watching movies.

LLSNL American player looking to get set up on Stars. Moving to playa del Carmen area in mid-April to complete a divemaster internship. Possibly interested in sharing a poker house if any rooms are available. Otherwise, any advice for a space that my girlfriend and I could share in the $400-$600 / month range would be super appreciated. Either way, I would love to meet up with and connect with other expats while we're down there.

Groups not dead, just don't think anyone checking Skype 2 add people to the group...

Was playing on bovada until they got rid of poker and the volume for omaha on other sites is terrible. 34 yrs old, omaha/8 is my game but i dabble in others, fairly active, laid back and like to go out at night. Looking to live on or very near the beach
I'm generally one who is willing to spend more on rent as I do prefer more contemporary aesthetic.
Looking to find a nice 2 bedroom for around 1000-1500 a month.
I've been looking on various sites including CL and Airbnb and there seems to be some pretty sick looking spots in that price range.

I'm pretty good at cooking and will be looking to eat in 4-5 days a week to keep costs low on food.

I'm planning to have a family trip in Playa del Carmen. Is it really worth it for the budget? Well, I've been with different resorts and beaches all over the world but in Playa, I am not very particular with the place. I just heard from my friends that its nice to spend our summer there.
