Everyone is getting new cards. They sent a newsletter about it a couple of months back. The old ones are expiring in this month.

Hi guys!
I want to go to PDC in February with another grinder, is there any page to search for rentals?
Do you think that you can live with about 700 usd, dividing the rent, some party and beach?

What up 2p2!

I'm posting to gauge interest and maybe link up with one or two players either moving to PDC or already there.

I'm looking to start or join a grind house. Might also move solo but would prefer to live with one person as I like to talk about theory and bouncing ideas off a fellow player I feel really helps my game.

Currently residing in Arizona but am looking to make the move to PDC in April or May 2017. I originally started playing on Tilt back when I was 19 and most grinded low to mid stakes MTTs. After Black Friday was forced to make the switch to live to which I experienced mixed results. I currently work in the restaurant industry full time but also play 1/3 NL and 2/5 NL live and grind Carbon a few times a week.

Looking to make the jump full time back into Online. Planning to be in PDC for at least six months but a year is not unrealistic. Will mainly be playing low to mid stakes MTTs taking the occasional shot at high stakes MTTs. Plan on playing minimum 40-60 hours a week. Would also be cool to set up a twitch channel at some point if things go well. I'm in the preliminary stages of planning a move and would like to see if any fellow grinders want to link up.

26 years old
Born in Seoul but raised in the US
Looking to live on or very near the beach
I'm generally one who is willing to spend more on rent as I do prefer more contemporary aesthetic.
Looking to find a nice 2 bedroom for around 1000-1500 a month.
I've been looking on various sites including CL and Airbnb and there seems to be some pretty sick looking spots in that price range.

I'm pretty good at cooking and will be looking to eat in 4-5 days a week to keep costs low on food.

Message me for more info or I can give you my phone number or Facebook.

700 would be hard. even splitting rent. 1000-1500 is much more reasonable, and will get you a decently nice place.

Flying in tomorrow for something between 1-4 weeks depending on how sweet life is there.

Planning to find a small hotel or condo in/near Centro. Safety & solid wifi are the only musts. Woukd be nice to be able to walk to everything. Looking to crush local food nonstop and enjoy some warmer weather. It's cold up here in the Seattle area.

I am probably doing the same thing around the first of the year, only I will be looking at staying several months if I like it. With the peso reaching 20 : 1 I am expecting to get pretty good value for my USD. Local food trip reports w/prices would be appreciated.

This is the best resource I have found link.

that link is pretty solid. updated regularly. food is pretty cheap down here.

cheap taco joint: 3 tacos + coke = 70 pesos (~$3.50)
Subway footlong = 90 pesos (~$4.50)
Starbucks venti caramel macciato = 72 pesos if i recall correctly (~$3.60)
mid tier restaurant on 5th avenue: steak/salad + coke = 360 pesos (~$18)
bottle of house wine in same/similar restaurant: 300 pesos = (~$15)
same bottle in grocery store = 100 - 150 pesos (~$5-$7.50)
mexican beer in restaurant = 35-65 pesos (~$1.50 - $3.25)
mexican beer in grocery store = 14 - 20 pesos (~$0.70 - $1)
12 pack in grocery store = ~160 pesos (~$8)

hopefully that gives you an idea of prices.

Went to the Mega grocery store today. Food confirmed cheap. Picked up an entire cooked chicken ranchero style for about $4.

Hey Guys, this has probably been asked before, but I have read only the last couple of pages, so here we go:

I am thinking about moving to PDC for like 3 months between Bachelor and Masters with my GF and was wondering how easy it is to find apartments?
From what I checked there are lots of fairly reasonable priced apartments, but does it usually work out to fly in, stay a week in a hostel and find a place in that time?
We speak minimal spanish, do the owners speak at least a bit of english?

Every thought is appreciated and sorry again if this has been here before.

I showed up and found one on the same day. I speak some spanish but it wasn't necessary. Huge expat community here. My property managers are Italians who also speak spanish & english.

There's a fairly active english language FB group called PDC real estate where people are advertising places and requesting places. If I hadn't immediately locked something up, that's what I was planning to use. A few websites out there as well if you can understand basic spanish.

chop,

I assume the apt you found met your stated criteria: safe, near centro, solid wifi.

Mind telling us what we could expect for a safe studio/1bd near centro?

savman - Yes, it meets the criteria. I'm just chilling here for 2-4 weeks, so I'm paying a higher weekly rate instead of monthly rate or with a lease.

The place I'm at is $200/week and about 1-2 blocks directly north of Mega supermarket, near Calle 18 & Avenida 35. It's a gated studio apartment in a garden style building, 4 units total. Furnished unit with AC, microwave, full size fridge. No oven, but there is a four burner gas range. No laundry, but there's a big co-op laundry place a block away. Some barking dogs now and then but pretty quiet overall.

Something like this would probably go for about $400-$450/month from what I've seen on the FB group. Definitely check that group out if you are thinking of coming long term, lots of active seeking/offering discussion there.

Hey chopstick do you think you can provide a link to pdc real estate. I tried searching Facebook for but couldn't seem to find it but I seen a ton of other real estate pages. Thanks.
