Los Jueves Son de Patria en Losaguachiles on corner of 25th Ave and Calle 34: Great tacos!

Above are all places that locals took me to or told me about; I never woud have found any of them (except perhaps El Fogon) on my own.
Went back to Paco´s Tacos yesterday (after doing two dives at Dos Ojos) and realized it´s actually called "Tacos Pacos". As they say in Thailand, "same same but different". Was just as good as the first time and my sister agreed that they were the best fish tacos she´s ever had.

The last place I mentioned above (Los Jueves Son de Patria...) is simply called "Aqua Chile" by locals and is only open from 2PM to 6PM! Evidently if you get there any later than 3PM you will probably have to wait 15-45 minutes for a seat. Yes, it´s that good.

I noticed that there is a casino next to Plaza de Las Americas mall--anyone know if there is any live poker there? I know there is live poker in Cancun....

To all you internet pros living in Playa: instead of sitting home alone in your underwear all day clicking buttons on your computer, why not organize a friendly home game, say a mixed game, one round 2/5 NLHE and one round 1/3 PLO? Whose to say with a few rich tourists plus the right mix of tequilla it wouldn´t be equally profitable (plus a lot more fun)?

Mostly tourney and SNG grinders. And not everyone plays that high. And if it would happen in pesos i imagine. Then theres a safety issue of inviting strangers, plus the corrupt cops getting wind of rich tourists gambling. Definitely would have to keep this on the hush hush. Online poker seems really safe all of a sudden lol.

Plus i love sitting in my underwear clicking buttons all day. Especially in this heat. Any more movement and I'd be sweating too much.

Re: Official Playa Del Carmen Thread

there is not live poker at the place at plaza de las americas (called winpot casino I believe). They have a automated dealer poker table (don't know what these are called?) that has not been in use both times I've been. I was told they run a 9 handed sng trny for 50 or 100 pesos once a week.

as far as home games, I'll pass. The last thing I want to do after a session is play more poker and there are plenty of reasons I chose online pro route over live pro

We got a home game at our place with a bunch of whales, $500 to get in and 10% of winnings at the end.

¿500 pesos you mean, yes? Then can I assume there's no rake? If so, what is the game, where & when? And yes, 10% of winnings is bull**** but whatever.

Re: Official Playa Del Carmen Thread

Lol @ charging people rake, buy in fee, + 10% of winnings. Seems like a setup. If you had mega whales, why not stake some players and get 40-50% of the easy money. Only whale at that game would be the person willing to do all that ^^

On a side not, it is fkn hot an I will be dying this summer most likely.

The Playboy Casino in Cancun sounds way more fun than a home game TBH.
