As for tax, as long as you use your irish bank account to deposit/withdraw then you will be grand.

Send me a pm here or on IPB (im RBBlogger there) if you have any other questions or need help getting set up.
Thanks, sorry about the delay getting back to you but some stuff came up. PM sent on IPB.

I'll play. Have you got a decent football and do you know anywhere thats good for a kickabout?

I'm English, so expect poorly-timed tackles, plenty of hopeful long-balls and a player who can probably trap the ball further than you can kick it.

But, my god, there'll be no shortage of passion, pal!

We'll play 3 and in, jumpers for goalposts, with a cigarette break every 30 minutes.

Lagers at full-time.

Unless you find someone who got them shipped over themselves (like I ended up doing cause of life tilt) Its unlikely, best bet is prolly doing same if you need a stack for setup or using an HDTV? if 30" is a must. Other option is to head down to Ultimate cause they have some over priced 24"s

Hey guys,

If anyone is planning to move to Malta and would like a job in Igaming, or already lives here and is tired of the grind and would like a cool job in the industry, drop me a pm.

As some might know i've been looking for a job for a long time (and finally got one offered 2 weeks ago and kindly accepted), and during that time i've met the right people and keeping well in touch.

90% of the people in the industry, especially the agencies are massive douchebags and a pain in the ass to deal with, i'd like to save you that and would be happy to help people finding them a suitable job without the hassle.

If you're interested send me a pm and we'll discuss further, or feel free to add me on skype, same name here followed by "075".

Kind Regards,

Pieter

Hello everyone!

I recently moved from the Netherlands to Malta to play poker and avoid 29% taxes on monthly winnings. I tried to find what % I have to pay here, but still no succes. Can anyone help me out?

Hi all,

I'm moving over next week. Can't wait tbh.

I was at the dentist a few days ago and need some work done. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the prices/details of dentists are like in Malta? I'll get it done over here if needs be but I don't have long left in the country and would rather wait a few weeks until I am settled and have other things sorted first.

Thanks in advance.

+1

tbh I don't think any poker players are actually paying taxes here in malta though, since it's so vague and it seems no one has any decent info.

What's with the 4.5% of money you "bring in the island"? Is that just for cashouts of winnings to bank account? Or entire winnings (which can't be checked by altese tax department AFAIC)

Would love to hear some insights as well, also regarding bank accounts, if they're checked for poker winnings or w/e

Yes! I actually got rejected at the HSBC saying I was a poker player; the manager of the office tried explaining to me they don't take tattooers or prostitutes either . So i tried the Bank of Valetta; and told them i was setting up a business as an internet marketeer and after a returned letter from them to your bank in the country you came from they opened the account. It took more than a month in total for me.

Note: I already had a Maltese id-card

No, PietjeK told me the same thing (nobody's paying asahk), but tbh I would like to get my BR of neteller and just have it in a 'normal' bank. A little interest would'nt hurt either. Obv you use you Net+ or Moneybookers card for the money you need for living so no taxes paid on that either way. I heart about the 4.5% as well; it's for companies who make their money overseas. I think that's one of the reason why all those Igaming companies are situated here. Just an idea; you could ofcourse say you're in affialte marketing (overseas income) and just pay the 4.5% and put it on the bank right?! But I am still very curious how other pokerplayers handle taxes on the island.

Standard HSBC behavior when they hear "poker" when you try to open an account. Same thing if they see any poker related transaction on an already opened account.

I've read stories like this in several countries.

Please let that be clear, i dont know for sure, and honestly i dont care.

Hire a laywer or financial adviser if you want to be sure, my words mean nothing, ive never made enough money to make this something to be worried about, unlike most of you.
