Chicago Chicago

I'm heading to Chicago for the first time ever on Friday to watch the Phillies take on the Cubs at Wrigley. I'll be landing at O'hare at 12:20, first pitch Friday is 1:30...Anyway I get there in time?

Also what are the MUST SEE things in Chicago. My buddies were talking about going to the hot dog stand where they yell **** at you but thats it.

Also I think were getting tix on the rooftop across the street for saturdays game, is it really worth the $200 all you can eat/drink. Debating whether to do that or get really good tix at field level or something.

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

what????

OP: If you land at 12:20, there is no chance you make it to the game by the first pitch. And yes, the $200 rooftop deal is good considering field level seats will run close to $110 each. Then you add in $6.50 domestics, $7.50 imports, and $4.50 hot dogs. Anyways, the rooftops are great. But if you've never been to Wrigley before, I would say you should splurge on the seats inside. There just isn't any experience the same as watching a game in such a historic place.

Hope you have a great time!

With no delays you have a chance. But first pitch is unlikely.

The hot dog place your talking about is the Weiner Circle and that is an after 1AM thing. 2AM is probably best. Not far from the Cubs game. Most bars in Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park are good to keep you entertained between the game and Weiner circle. Cubby Bear and Sluggers are popular. Improve Olympic is right there if you like comedy shows.

Millennium Park is cool and worth seeing. If you like Museums there is something for everyone Aquarium, Science and Industry, History, Fine Art, Planetarium, Zoos. Tons of great restaurants. North Ave Beach on a Saturday is worth going to.

thanks guys, I appreciate all the feedback.

Yeah I figured we'd be cutting it close, but w/e as long as we are there by like the 3rd inning it should be alright.

Really excited about this, I have heard nothing but good things about Chi-town. One other quick question, How bad of an idea is it to wear Phillies gear? I know in Philly outside fans would most likely be yelled at or booed in good fun but nothin to crazy (unless its like a dallas cowboy fan). I'm cool with getting booed and what not just don't feel like getting into a scrap over my team preference.

you should be fine. You'll probably get a ton of **** and ribbing from Hawks fans though.

The Cubs suck this year. I can't see anyone getting too riled up or in your face. Just don't be the aggressor, ldo.

+1

No one will care as long as you're not that douche-bag guy that starts fights over pointless things during the game. Any booing or things like that will be in good taste though lol.

If you want to see fat chicks shaking their boobs as they toss mediocre meat fair at you, go to the yelly place. If you want the greatest hot dog's of all-time, go to Hot Doug's. Chicago is my favorite food city in America, so if you're into food you need to do some research and find some restaurants that appeal to you. Some places to start would be Publican, Lula cafe, Victory's banner, blackbird, avec, frontera grill/topalobampo, alinea (if you really like food).

If you're going with a group of friends, you have to try whirlyball (jai alai + basketball + bumpercars). Go to the beach, walk around millenium park, go out in logan quare, wicker park, or uke village for some hipsterish bars, go out in lincoln park if you've got a little db in you and feel like poppin' your collar. If you need any fresh, local produce, make sure to stop by the Dill Pickle Food Coop, and compliment them on their fine building (which I own).
