Hey Guys,

I'm moving to Thailand (hopefully Phuket) mid May and was looking for people (1,2 or 3) who are interested in starting a poker house there. Moving into an existing poker house would be awesome too! I have looked at many places to rent and am still going even if nobody wants to share a place. But obviously it would be so much cooler if I have company! I'm a very easy going guy who loves talking about the game and also getting the most out of life, I have been to Thailand before so I am semi familiar with the country. It truly is a wonderful place where you can live like a king very cheaply. So if anybody out there is interested, or if there is a poker house in Phuket looking for another person, please don't hesitate to PM me and ask some questions or get my Skype. I am flexible in the travel dates so if mine don't quite fit you we might be able to come to an arrangement

Cheers,

Daniel

hey, i've been waiting to play on pokerstars for a while now and i've been looking for people that would want to make this move.

I'm open to anywhere, as long as i will be able to get my residence verified to play.

being a U.S citizen, i've been thinking about moving to turkey to play on pokerstars. I heard it was banned in turkey, however i understand that there are ways around it. i was wondering if i would have to set up a bank account outside of turkey to receive my pokerstars withdrawals?

For all those that consider moving to malta, here is some option on what u can find: if u need more information i am happy to help.

The ideal area for a poker player to live in Malta is St Julian’s and Sliema, with easy access to great restaurants, shopping center, night bars and clubs, cinema, bowling and beach clubs. The residential complex of Pender gardens which is located in St Julians is preferred by many professionals. Luxury living like this http://www.malta-property-agents.com...opertyShow-171 is a standard.

If you are looking to go that extra mile and you like to have some fun and be the center of attention, this Villa is ideal at great price and perfect for sharing: http://www.malta-property-agents.com...opertyShow-171 . The house can equipped with office desks and chairs on request. I can help with internet set up and if needed also to open bank account. We can provide all information and help including airport transfers.

If you are looking for a quiet area but still close to the action, Swieqi is ideal : http://www.malta-property-agents.com...opertyShow-171 .

Whistler is one the nicest cities in the world and it would be sick if we got a group together for some grinding and fun times.

Something like this would do the trick:http://whistler.en.craigslist.ca/apa/3719669141.html

Hey!

I'm thinking about moving to Australia (not sure about the city, but probably a big one) for 6-8 months from July-August. Are there many poker houses there? What's the standard price for a decent one?

Basically, any info would be good

Travel time: July on for 6 months or so

Might do NYC, may do barcelona, thinking possibly san diego and commuting to mexico some, so potentially a nice apartment in san diego for 6 months and a little place in Rosarita/Tijuana to go to, someone with a car in San Diego would be ideal for this as I don't want to ship my car again. don't do it.

just coming from there.

OZ is highly overrated, insanely expensive (i've been around and lived in london for 6 months and london is cheap compared to any major city in OZ), nightlife is garbage, etc. wasted 3 months of my life there, never again

Room For Rent:

Hey guys I have a room available for rent in Ottawa (Canada) and I figured I'd try to get a poker player in before I look else where for a roommate.

Location: Basically downtown Ottawa, the specific area is called Centretown but it's a busy area.

Available: May 1st, possibly later as well

The Room: It's a typical 2-bedroom apartment that you'd be sharing with myself, so a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room. There is no lease as it's currently month to month, and it's just two months notice if you plan on leaving. The rent is $640 a month including all normal utilities with last month's rent upfront. If you'd like to be here for just the summer that's fine but I'll likely only accept anyone staying until the end of August (or very close to it). Obviously if you want to stay longer that's fine to. The bedroom won't be furnished, but you can likely buy anything you need very close by.

Smoking: Smoke whatever you want on the balcony.

About Me: I'm a 22 year old university student (4th year), I've been in Ottawa for four years and I've always lived in Canada. I play mostly mid-stakes MTT's on stars/FTP, a bit of cash, and recently started live play as well. I've been playing somewhat seriously for about a year and will continue to do so this summer alongside maybe a couple summer classes. I'm into sports (watching, betting, and playing), partying on weekends, gym, music, hanging out with friends, but mostly poker. Definitely very easy going, clean, I lived with my previous roommate among others for 4 years with no issues.

Miscellaneous:
-Coin operated laundry in the basement
-Air conditioning
-High speed internet
-Backup internet
-No cable TV atm, but I'm willing to split it if you want it
-30 seconds from the grocery store, bus stops, bars, restaurants/fast food

The Casino: Casino du Lac Leamy on the Quebec side. There is a bus stop 10 minutes from the apartment that takes you there, always has 1/2 games running and usually a 2-5, also Tuesday and Thursday MTT's (80$) (~1800 up top) and monthly larger buy-ins. The weekly tournies are horrid structure but still very profitable, and the cash games seem pretty wild although I don't play them much. Search "Lac Leamy" on 2p2 if you want to know more.

Montreal is also 1.5 hours away and they have plenty of poker rooms along with the WPT returning for the end of April, I'll be playing a couple events there as well. http://www.playgroundpoker.ca/wpt-canadian-spring

What I'm looking for:

Someone that either plays poker full-time or simply plays a lot of poker. I prefer if you be around my age but anything in the 20's is fine. I'd also prefer someone that is reasonably sociable and of course easy-going.

Thought I'd post here while I wait to get approved for the marketplace, but any questions just leave a reply or feel free to PM me.

Did you get hurt by his comment? Are you emotionally invested in Australias reputation as a vacation spot?

Sorry to derail this thread, but why is Malaysia bad? Do you mean as a place to play poker and live there? Or even a week there as a trip would be awful?

i just didn't enjoy it as the nightlife was not good, the prices for drinks though were same as US, didn't find the people friendly, small sample in Kuala Lumpur, i've heard the beach stuff is better, so i'm not absolutely positive on it

Australia has 4-5 of the 20 most expensive cities in the world to live IIRC. If you don't mind spending money its ok but I'd recommend going somewhere else. If you want a good Western Country try America. I haven't been but everyone I've spoken to who's been to both America and Australia says America is simply a cheaper better version.

Im Australian FWIW.

Variance IMO. Malaysia is pretty sick if you do it right, but I'm a little biased as I've lived there for extended periods of my life.
