Are there many poker houses in the UK or in Canada? Are they "poker friendly" regarding taxation?

I'm asking this because I'm planning to live there after graduation in June, but it's still unsure.

Hello people. I am looking to join or open poker house in Canada. I will be applying for working holidays visa which allows work in Canada (that’s is actually work permit for one year, and I am pretty sure I will get it), so my plan is playing poker in live casinos and possibly working second job (or playing online afternoon, playing live at night). I think Canada rocks, they are rich (overtook US and most of European countries in wages, plus I believe that is only start for them), there are lot of fishes, good games, they are richer than Saudi Arabia in oil, economy is booming so I think I must go there! I prefer Alberta (Edmonton or Calgary) instead Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. I don’t speak French so Montreal is off, Toronto does not have live casinos, only underground games which are expensive (huge rake), and Vancouver is cool but still prefer Edmonton (I believe it has juicier softer games). Plus Alberta is richest province in Canada. I am surprised that nobody suggested poker house in Alberta in this forum so far. Both of these cities have 5 or more casinos each, they offer other games then holdem (omaha, dealer choice) and they have great poker action.
So if anybody here is interested, send me private message. I am looking for two or possible three people, so that we can rent big apartment (housing is very expensive).

Edmonton rarely has games above 1/2 NL, 3/6 LIM or DC

To ibavly: yea I know that. But from what I read on internet, these games have higher max buyin of 500$ and play extra loose and wild (effectively 2/5$). I heard lot of nice things about game softness and craziness and money making potential. Obviously, as this is second hand information found on internet forums, info might be crap (or too old, games might have changed).

How about Calgary? Does it have better live poker scene?

I live in Calgary, I want to get out of the city (Well I am in April) but if you need any help with info on Calgary feel free to PM me.. We have a lot of juicy games, and even run 25/50PLO sometimes at the casinos..

I would def stay away from Edmonton though, much better cities to live in.
