even if you attempt to go into tall grass and step on one its going to be hard

also the ones you need to worry about aren't generally located along the coast (at least according to ezyano)

and definitely aren't likely to be in the middle of the city

The Malaysian pit viper is responsible for most deaths in Thailand I think but it's prevalent everywhere. Most snakes feel you coming and get out of the way but this guy is lazy and just sits there and when you come by is aggressive. Still the odds are way in your favor. More likely to get it from a motorcycle I'm sure.

cities = vermins = food for snakes. they love to hide in sewer and some times you will have an unattended patch of land in a city, that's the perfect breeding ground for snakes and mosquitoes. all kind of deadly **** in there.

It's only been a few days, but for the moment the day game has moved over to the Golden Island Casino. So far so good as the action has been better and the pots generally bigger. The game is driven largely by the Koreans and a some tourists we weren't getting at the other room. Korean Charley is doing a few promotions and giving out some free Korean food so that hasn't hurt either. But more importantly the staff at Golden Island is simply more professional. I haven't seen a single card flip over in days and the dealers don't say or do anything that isn't game related. Those of you reading this from the West probably can't relate as you cannot possibly know how tilting it is when dealers flip over a card at least once every 3-4 deals. In either case I always say that competition is a good thing and the presence of a second room in town should only help the poker scene.

There's no need to get defensive. Nobody benefits from having an incorrect assessment of the situation. The risk from snake bites is small, but it does exist. So is the risk from mosquito-borne disease, which is much much higher than from snake bites.

Viet all over Cambodia, good looking one are obviously in PP. Usually the viet are more poor than the Khmer and are working girls. Most of them speak Chinese which is very nice. My biggest problem with Khmer girls are their very limited English and their attitude towards foreigners. I wonder if that attitude would be different if the foreigner is speaking Khmer

I did some research on VISA for cambodia. If I got this right, you can get a tourist visa that's good for 30 days and extensible for 30 more or a business visa that's good for 30 days but is extendable indefinitely? "business" visa doesn't require any proof of business. Does this sound about right?

Would it be possible to enter with a tourist visa, then get a business visa in cambodia?

What do you guys do visa-wise?

Sounds right... Get a business visa on arrival, costs like $5 more than the tourist one

edit: I'm not exactly sure but if you get a 1 year visa (maybe 6 months too, not sure) then you are allowed to leave and re-enter using the same visa

Thanks!

Lion City has a daily tournament at 1pm; $11 buyin, winner take all, guaranteed $100 prize pool. Cash game starts shortly there after (usually around 2pm, $1/$1 blinds) and can last anywhere from a few hours or go straight through till morning. Sometimes the game breaks around dinnertime but starts up again in the early evening.

There is also a 7pm $30 tournament that runs Mon/Wed/Fri with a two month promotion attached to it. The promotion ends in a couple weeks and another one start immediately after this one.

At the moment, we are not spreading $1/$2 but that will change with high season quickly approaching.
