Friday is a $20 freezeout game.

We have two tables at present, both are full for the freezeout game.

We also sometimes arrange meetups at the local Fortuna Casino, the only poker casino in town. 4 more don't have poker.
Nice! I've been living in Sihanoukville for 2 months now but didn't find the way to your bar yet Is there a freeze out every friday (like this friday, for example)?

Any of you Cambodia grinders living in PP know of any high quality decent restaurants in PP? (Pref not riverside) I'm not fussed on type of cuisine and am happy to pay that little bit extra... just looking for something other than $1 chicken & rice really.

& Also anything decent to do in the day? Again, pref something that isn't related to the genocide as I've done all that.

Don't get too excited. Unfortunately, what the average tuk-tuk driver will try to sell you doesn't look anything like these pictures

I asked a few people who worked there about this and nobody said yes. I asked to talk to a manager and he said the lock boxes are only for hotel guests. I explained that I wanted to gamble with thousands of dollars at his casino and didn't want to have to walk in and out with it every day. He told me as a one time thing he would hold my money for one day (which I didn't bother to do as a one time solution is not a solution at all).

If you find out a way to get them to do this please let me know via PM, though. I'd really appreciate it.

Can I volunteer to teach at a local school or Orphanage while I am there, I want something to add to the CV? Also, can I get a business visa for one year upon arrival?

Thanks

I would advise staying away from orphanages while in Cambodia. An entire industry has grown around foreigners who think they are helping but are creating a much worse problem. Children who have families are being sold or rented out to orphanages to supply the demand that has been created by this misguided tourism industry. On top of that, actual orphans are already coping with abandonment issues. Having someone come into their lives, show them love and affection, then leave to go back to their home country can cause even more psychological damage.

I've been volunteering at a wonderful school in Phnom Penh for the last few months. It's a great organization that I can recommend highly, but you do have to give them a three month commitment. If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you some more details.

Once you enter the country on a 1 month tourist visa, you can easily get a 1-year business visa for about $290. Just ask any hotel reception, travel agency or even in some supermarkets.

lots of bars to get drunk...heart of darkness or whatever.

i would just spend the whole night in the casino tho if i was there one night. can go to 'red fox' for cheap joints and drinks during the day.

also the banannas i ate were of wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lower quality than the ones in the pictures.

If anyone living in PP would like to meet up in july for a beer/night out let me know. I'm there 3 weeks & enjoy a drink or two... they're on me!

Barhop between heart of darkness, pontoon or the fail safe option of martini pub. Guaranteed to have a good night or shenanigans, get a hotel near the water, the street red fox is on (cant remember the name). Degen option is to stay at Walkabout Hotel which has the benefit of being 24hours, apparently haunted and kinda central and well known with just about everyone.

Give naga world a miss if your only there for 1 night, just a nice casino thats standard anywhere else in the world. Go wild and smash it up instead imo.

Agodo (sp.) website has good deals for nagaworld, its about half the price of the walk in fee. $80 per night compared to $160 for walk in, but there are many simple hotels within walking distance of the casino. Trying to rememeber them of the top of my head but nothing comes to mind right now, think there is a irish run pub/hotel called Paddy inn or something which is close by.

Paddy's Rice Pub and Inn is right on the riverside at street 136. It's just a few meters away from the Red Fox and there are a ton of bars and restaurants in the area. I wouldn't worry about what is or isn't withing walking distance. A tuk tuk will take you anywhere for $3 or less.

Passed by The Red Fox a few days ago. This is what it looks likes; it's on your right coming from the riverside in St. 136
