Pokerstars allows players from Cambodia, so yes its legal to play online from Cambodia. Nobody would care if they saw you playing online for money. And no its definitely not taxable

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Whether that even includes poker or is just another government promise that never comes to fruition remains be seen.

Pokerstars allows players from Thailand, and it's completely illegal in Thailand... It is the player's responsibility to be in line with the legislation of the country he stays in.

Wth you want?Asking in PI and Cambodia, are you the one asking on Jakarta Thread too?

I suggest you go to Indonesia,to be specific 'Yogyakarta' (cheap accommodation, better infrastructure, students town-many can speak English, nobody cares you play online, just don't share to people you don't trust, the people are nice etc)

Playing online is definitely legal here and not to many people look twice at you if you do, let alone the police. The only thing is that you may not want to give off the impression to others that you have a lot of money for obvious reasons. I have known people to have issues when trying to fund their account from here. It send that most handle transactions through their financial institutions back home. If you're coming here for a visit, I would suggest making sure your account is funded before you arrive just to be safe.

I have an ABA bank account here and I remember them making me fill out an American tax form. I forget which form but I remember the event for sure. Playing here you take the same chances as if you were in your home country and don't report your winnings as income. There is nothing extra about playing here and I don't know a single expat or tourist that pays taxes in Cambodia.

I had a fun night last night as a group of us started out with dinner at Sher-e-punjab, an Indian joint near the Riverside. Indian is one of those cuisines that I never choose but always happy about afterwards. While this restaurant had been around a while, the food scene had really come up in Phnom Penh the last couple of years. You still get some pretentious places that overcharge, but they're are still plenty of places like this one that has great food and still offers good value. We ordered a bunch of dishes and it only came out to $8 each.

We then headed over to Monstah Sports Bar on the Riverside just off of 136. The place is an interesting one as the name is a take on the word "monster" but with a Boston accent. I'm sure no one outside of the states will get that. It's open 24 hours and a real cool place to watch sports and just hang out if you get burnt out on the girlie bar scene. I went a little different with my drink order last night and got ridiculed accordingly.

I was hanging out with Renton555 but didn't end up at his bar. I was there the previous night though and did some drinks with some happy pizza. I only had one slice so I didn't feel it that much. But the previous time I had about five slices, extra happy, and I seem to remember Renton and I doing Dave Chappelle impersonations all night long.

I then headed to the pharmacy to pick up some medications for my gout and some antibiotics. One if the benefits of living here is of course the cheap medication. While I was there I figured I should also load up on some condoms and Kamagra. The later is just a generic Indian Viagra. It's seriously a wonder drug and I need it if for no other reason than the drinking.

I ended my night at Naga since I rarely get a chance to play in my own room these days. The new seat if dealers they just brought in are still there and they are hilariously incompetent. One in particular always feels the need to announce "burn!" on every street, on every hand. And I love how the dealers call clock in players and then don't even really count to a minute or user a watch. It's a lot to deal with so I left after a couple of hours. Then it was time for the nightly risk of being abducted when taking a taxi outside of Naga. Luckily I made it home and only had to switch cars three times before one finally had a meter that was on. I'm writing this as I work my shift at the Riverking. It's raining pretty hard today so I was a bit concerned about the attendance. But we have a full game but I wonder how the Omaha game will fare today.

You have gout? Are you from the 19th century?

As a fan of an automatic action clock (or anything really to speed up live play) i may actually love this.

I saw a picture of someone's idea to put a button that calls clock on the bottom of the table, in front of each seat (making it anonymous, obv). That would be the dream.

I'll have to see if the Chinese pharmacies carry this karmaga since everyone raves about it.

What is with that 19th century joke and gout lol? If I had a nickel for every time I heard that one I would have $0.50. I should clarify about the Naga dealers. The players don't tank at all. The dealer points to each player and says "two to call." If you don't act within ten seconds they'll point to you again. If you take another ten they'll call clock on you but with no actual clock; no sixty seconds, no countdown, nothing. It's basically just their way of telling you to hurry up.

It appears as if I was worried about nothing. The holdem game just broke after about nine hours and the Omaha game is still going. At one point the holdem game had about $11K on the table. I was least sure about the Omaha game today, but the rain let up and enough of the regulars showed up, along with a player from Naga, to drive the game. My shift ended around 7:00 PM but I'm still here waiting on Renton555 to finish up his Omaha session so that we can go eat. I killed an hour after my shift by going to the massage parlor in the hotel. One benefit of working at Riverking is that I can finish a shift and get rubbed on by a young, pretty girl for an hour without having to go too far.

It's dead in the week but generally on the weekends it's worth going, a lot of hot non-working girls in there too.

I wish I was running good like you. They usually don't want my money and don't want to give me sex

I'm in Phnom Penh now. I will check out Nagaworld today and maybe Riverking later this week. What games run at these places and during what hours? Looking to play 1/2 holdem or tournaments (which I asume doesn't run?).

Also at Riverking, is just to show up and join a game or how does it work?

Thanks

Naga starts at 8:00 PM and runs until whenever. The game there is mainly $1-$2 although $2-$5 does go sometimes. The Riverking game starts early at 1:00 PM and is $2-$4. There is also a PLO game that starts at 4:00 PM and that game is $2-$5. We also have tournaments on Sundays at 2:00 PM. It's a $25 rebuy/add-on event that usually gets to about $2,500 in prize pool money. The big $7,500 guarantee event is on April 23rd at 2:00 PM and that is a $50 event. You do not need anything to play at the Riverking other than to show up. If you need directions just call ahead to 097 663 8233 and we'll give your driver directions.

Just sent a girl off before heading into the Riverking to start my shift. Before leaving she just told me to call her tonight and she would come over directly so I won't have to pay the bar fine. I really hate my life.

We have a lot of visitors from Thailand to the Riverking, usually making a visa run. I don't mean to offend anyone who lives there, but it occurs to me that practically speaking they are doing it backwards. I understand that Thailand is the more established and developed destination. But with the visa situation being what it is, it seems like it would make more sense to live here and go to Thailand whenever you want. I was playing next to a friend from Thailand last night and he told me that in 2016 he spent more time in Cambodia than in Thailand. The visa situation here is very easy as virtually anyone can get a business visa and stay indefinitely as long as they pay. And since 6 and 12 month visas are multiple entry, this would allow anyone to visit Thailand any time they wished. This coupled with the fact that there are more live poker venues here, it would seem to make more sense to use Cambodia as a home base and travel elsewhere whenever desired. This is a growing trend as we've had players from Thailand stay here for reasons ranging from what I've already stated to the availability of weed. I'm sure many will disagree, but this occurred to me recently as it had come up frequently in discussion.

I am thinking about doing the move for some of the reason you mention poker_triad.

Couple of question:

1) How many cities has casino running 1-2+ (i'm aware of Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville).

2) What is the cost of living (I have a thai GF and 2 dogs), so we need a small house. We currently pay $116 usd per month for a small house excluding amenities (in Chiang Mai). I'm looking to spend no more then 1k usd per month for everything excluding visa run (if any). Half of what we spend right now is food.

3) How safe is Cambodia? (we don't drink or do drugs).

4) What kind of visa can I/my GF get there and how different/better is the visa situation in Cambodia compare to Thailand (a freaking nightmare here).

Thx!
