Hi guys
I'll be in Bali for two weeks and will have a bunch of USD on me ($10k). Of course I don't want to travel with it so do any of you know where I could pay to keep it safe until I fly out two weeks later? A safety deposit box or something.

I'm not there yet but I'll be staying in hostels mostly. I would stay at a nice hotel one night though if they would keep my valuables safe.

Would I need to open a bank account to use a safety deposit box at the banks?

Yeah I'd feel much better about it if I knew it was somewhere secure. Some hostels don't even have lockers.

It's in cash so I can play poker with it (not in Bali, other places in asia).

I'll look into the safety deposit boxes that seems like the best bet.

Think im gonna do a longterm stint in indo later this year, will start off in Jakarta for week 10 daysish will do that in nice hotel just to get settled in, but will look for a smaller city on Java somewhere, be good if closeish to the coast.

Not going to Bali not interested in it at all.

Thanks for the recommendation I appreciate it but $200 a night is way over my budget. I'm looking for a 2 bedroom villa in either Seminyak, Kerobokan or Changu and dont really wanna pay more than $1200USD for a month.
