Moving to Italy, Milan for next 2 years. Need Help! Moving to Italy, Milan for next 2 years. Need Help!

Hi,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place.

I'm a Polish and I moved to Italy, Milan for next 1-2 years.
I've my fiscal code and I've already registered on titanbet and P*.it.

As a typical foreigner I've got few questions.

Do I have to report to government that I will stay longer than 90 days in your country?

If yes, how the other poker pro players (non-Italian) did it?

What are the conditions?

Does the Italian government see playing poker as a job?

Ex. I bought a car and your government asked me about my earnings. What sort of documents should I show them?

Also I'm looking for some bank with an online English interface and support.

I would be very grateful for some kind of tutorial for foreigner, who would like to stay in your beautiful country.

Looking forward for your help

Try poker refugees website. Not sure what their fees would be but apparently they cover all the bases and help you get everything set up

Why is that funny? Not saying he needs it but they def. do all the research for all his questions and make his life easier. Players from US don't need it to move 10 miles across the Mexican border but they use it. Just makes the move easier on you when someone can answer all ur questions/do the work for u

As far as I'm aware EU citizens can stay in other EU countries for as long as they like, providing you can show you are self employed.

"You have the right to live in any EU country where you work, are self-employed or have been posted to."

From: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens...s/index_en.htm

Obv in this case, your job is Poker. I would email Pstars.it directly about taxes and documents.. but good luck with hunting all those megadonks

After 3 months in your new country, you may be required to register with the relevant authority (often the town hall or local police station).

To obtain your registration certificate, you will need:

Self-employed
Valid identity card or passport
Proof of your status as self-employed

I think that Italian government doesn't treat poker as a job. That's why I asked all the questions.
I also wrote to poker refugees, but I think they focus on non-EU countries.

If you can show verifiable statements of withdrawals and deposits, which shows you are playing poker as a job I think it should be fine. Alternatively you could be a student and study Italian at a very liberal pace.

From: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens...s/index_en.htm
You have the right to live in any EU country for the duration of your studies if you:

are enrolled in an approved educational establishment
have sufficient income (from any source) to live without needing income support
have comprehensive health insurance cover there.

I would probably go this route, as learning Italian for a couple of hours a week would be useful during the time you are there anyway.

Next you need to find an 'approved educational establishment' which offers a course. I'm sure pretty much any college will have a course which is cheap and which takes place only a few hours a week and over a long period. Looks like the best option.

Don't ask for money from the Italian govt. Obv.

Finally, get comprehensive private health insurance.

You're good to go.

Thank you for contacting Your Europe Advice.
Directive 2004/38/EC permits you to move freely and settle in any member State provided you have sufficient ressources to reside in Italy and have a full health insurance cover not to become a burden to the Italian state.see:
http://europa.eu/legislation_summari.../l33152_en.htm
So, if you have a passport or national ID card, proof of a full insurance cover and proof in the bank that you can live in Italy you should be able to settle in Italy as a poker professional player.
Italy has a regulation on poker. Taxes are levied (3% tournament tax, 20% net tax on cash games, plus some player taxes).
In order to play legally in Italy you will have to ask for a "codice fiscale", which is a tax number ( a parallel to the personal number issued by the Tax board in Sweden can be made).
Your option is therefore to register as "self employed" and professional poker player. You should have a sufficient amount of money in the Italian bank.
Nice!

Now I'm looking for some bank which provides internet access and English interface or support. If you can recommend some it would be great.
