Hi All -

My wife and I want to take a fun 5 day trip to Hawaii. We live in LA. The only problems are:

1. We know nothing about where to go in Hawaii (which islands, which hotels are the nicest, activities etc)

2. She is 2 months pregnant with #2 so more 'active' things are generally off the radar

3. We have a two year old (who will come with a nanny) and would like to find the nicest plane that flies non-stop from LAX --> Hawaii (whichever island is best) -- but from my research none of the planes have particularly nice business / first class which is somewhat odd for a 6 hour flight... (anyone know if this has this changed in the last year?)

We are looking for a 'baby-moon' as she put it -- something fun, easy, and beachy (more than jungle/volcano) to do together before she becomes really pregnant. Cost isn't a huge issue -- we're just looking for the nicest and easiest thing to do -- probably in November.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Harry

Go somewhere else and invest more time before making another really horrible post.

Leave the kid.

Oahu, you can drive the entire island in a day and there's plenty to do (beaches, hiking, shopping, eating, snorkeling, Pearl Harbor, etc.). Stay in Waikiki.

www.unrealhawaii.com if you want some good hiking ideas

Will be in Oahu with my family. Anyone got any recommendations for companies you can hire a driver from for say a day? Would be handy if people wanted to go off and do different things.

Any other recent must do's on Oahu would also be appreciated. Thanks

bump,

iv heard waikiki beach is kind of like Miami beach. Fair comparison? not looking for something completely built up, but a bit quieter. any recommendations on Oahu?

hanauma bay is good for a day trip, lots of snorkelling/beach fun, I got the bus up from waikiki

I liked walking through the hilton on to the beach and occasionally using their ****, plus they do good fireworks. The beach isn't that deep so parts can get crowded.

Then Waikiki is probably the worst place to stay. However it is the most convenient place to stay. I like all the beaches on the east coast and in the north but it might get boring there. Depending on how long you gonna stay on Oahu I would still recommend get a room in Waikiki and then rent a car to go to the other beaches.
If you are just there for a few days or you absolutely don't wanna stay in Waikiki you could look for something at one of the beaches in the east. Between Kailua Bay and Sandy Beach(good spot for body boarding).
I like Hanauma Bay too.
