Getting around in Vegas

I'm going to Vegas for 3 nights and am going to sort of hop around on a day to day basis for some side events at Caesars/Binions/Venetian etc. etc.

I also want to check out the Rio to take in atmosphere of the WSOP since it's my first time in Vegas during the series.

I will be staying right near Binions/Freemont Street, and i'm wondering if it makes sense to cab it all over for at least 10-15 a pop or just rent a car? I can rent a car for 3 days for like $50, but my main concern is parking and traffic.

The monorail was another option but the closest stop to where i'm staying is about 2 miles, at least from what I read.

I'm curious what people think is the best way to go.

Re: Getting around in Vegas

depends if you're going to stay on the strip all day long. also depends on how much you want the freedom of a car. if you're just going to sit and grind all day long, i'd probably just cab..but meh.

also, you can post this in the las vegas lifestyle forum, they might have a better answer.

Yeah, the Vegas forum is the best place for answers.

Renting a car will be much cheaper than cabs. Parking at the Rio and Strip is free. If you 're worried about not being able to find the parking lots, use the free valets (tip a few bucks). You have to pay for parking downtown though.
