Getaway For The Summer

Hey guys

Been following two plus two for a long time, especially the Travel forum. The people in this forum is a big inspiration to me!

I live in Denmark in a medium populated city where i am studying now. I used to play poker at NL25, however, i always saw my big force in MTT´s where i have had some big cashes(for me big, for you probably small).

Now i have my own sportsbetting-service, which i hope will be very succesfull.

As my last exam is around 23th of June, and the next semester first start 20th of August, i really do not want to spend the whole summer in Denmark. It will bore the s*** out of me.

I want to go somewhere for one or two months. Maybe by myself, maybe with some friends, or if any of you in here have a spare room in a poker/betting house for the summer, it could also be an option. I just want to explore new things!

Criterias:

Preferably warm weather
Not too far away (Australia, Thailand etc is too expensive prob)
Access to reliable internet connection and to poker/betting sites
Not too expensive for apartment and living cost
Beautiful girls and a decent nightlife!

I was thinking Barcelona as i have lived there too, but i believe that it will be very expensive in summer.
Other destinations that came to my mind while reading this forum was: Portugal, Romania, Croatia.

I know this is a very wide thread, as i do not know EXACTLY what i am looking for. I just need some inspiration from 2+2ers who knows the world!

Thanks in advance

Have been thinking about same things also. Exploring different sites, checking living costs etc. lately. Seems like Budapest is pretty cheap place to short periods too. Furnished houses between 250-350 euros per month. At the moment I grind 10-20 hu turbo sng´s. My job contract will end in mid april so ready to go during summer

P.S. Hungarian girls are super hot.

don't think that thailand/SE asia would be too expensive- though the flight will be expensive, everything there is fairly cheap.

Barcelona is expensive, especially the nightlife, Portugal isn't bad. Don't rule out some parts of Asia like Thailand etc, whilst your flight may be expensive you can live there reasonably cheaply if you want to.

@ighpony

Budapest i have been considered too. Have read a thread in here, also describing Budapest as a cheap, great city with lots of beautil gals. But my impression of Budapest is boring, but it may have something to do that i was only 10 years only when i visited the city.

@ Vucking Vish

Yeah, dont tell me about the nightlife. Barca has the greatest nightlife but you are totally right when you say it is expensive! Though there are some hidden pearls, where you can drink cheap and still have a good time. Just need to stay away from the Rambla.

@ Orange

Yes, i meant the plain-tickets will be expensive. While plaintickets from Denmark to almost anywhere and back in Europe can be purchased for around 150-200 euros, Thailand will be 1000+ euros. So it makes a big difference. It would be cool though, however, the weather in Thailand is probably best in October/November/December/January right?

@ALL

Didn´t expekt that many replies already. You guys are awesome

Re: Getaway For The Summer

btw, forgot to mention. Kind of a big football freak, so a place where there will be good oppurtunities for watching the Euro 2012 this summer will be great! Ukraine/Poland are probably excluded, as the accomodation prices are going to rise by like 500 % in that period.

Re: Getaway For The Summer

yeah, but i mean that you'll more than make up for the price of the ticket in no time by how cheap everything is in thailand. you can eat meals (GOOD meals) for really cheap, etc.

i think given your criteria, spain is probably your best bet. that, or italy. i also like your original ideas of portugal/croatia/etc. check some of those threads (do a search) from the travel forum and see if it is something you might like.

Re: Getaway For The Summer

considering travelling about mate. takes a few hours to get from place to place and you can see a lot in 2 months. get good net in most european town/city hostels these days and if not practically everywhere in europe has a public library with grinding standard net, coffee shop or net cafe. if not go to a top range hotel and grind in the lobby or move locations. travelling about will be pretty cheap as you can mix going to good restaurants with cooking on your own and street food. same applies to drinking, drink in a hostel with a good crowd and then go out or go to cheap bars.

sample local girls and travelling girls. easy game!

Re: Getaway For The Summer

you can fly to thailand for £550 return from london. and you can fly london-denmark very cheap on ryanair/easyjet as far as i know.

theres obviously cool places in europe though and if you're looking for a decent betting/poker community have you considered malta, or gibraltar?

alternatively if you want to travel europe, look at http://www.interrailnet.com/ and you can get a monthly ticket for a few hundred euro's which means you won't even have to fly anywhere.
