Re: Generating Interest for Budapest Poker House

Hey,
I'm planning to just do a short trip next month to budapest mainly to party and do some culture.
What area is best to book an hotel.
What clubs should I visit?
Also I saw on the internet you can shoot guns very cheap, is this legit?
Budget isn't realy a problem don't mind to spend over €200-300 a day (hotel exl)
If you have any tips please give.

Thanks

For anyone worried about safety in Hungary. It just edged out Norway to take the ranking of the 17th most peaceful country in the world.

I put ads up in couchsurfing.org and craigslist . . . found her in approximately 2 hours . . . honestly just hired the first person who applied, but it worked out fine. The best districts to live in are probably 5/6/7; Each of these districts is pretty close to one another. 5 is the most expensive, 7 is the least expensive. Almost all of us live in 6 atm - myself included. You probably would be OK living in 2 and parts of 13. You'll just be further from most of the nightlife, restaurants, etc.

Re: Generating Interest for Budapest Poker House

District 12 is nice too, a bit of nature, beautiful apartments and not difficult to get to center. Like 10 mins with bus to center. I´m not an expert though, only 3 days in Hungary so far.

For apartments use roommatesbudapest or Tower budapest.

PS. I´m gonna stay here for a month this time and planning maybe to come back in sept-december. If some grinder (especially small-midstakes sng grinder) needs roommate for couple months in autumn I might be interested. Preferred rent 100-250 euros per month per person cos prices here are low.

Re: Generating Interest for Budapest Poker House

bump

currently settled and staying here on my own but I would like to entertain the idea of upgrading to a legit grinding house for motivation/study/social reasons.

I'm 24 but feel like somewhat of an OG nowadays. I'm well versed in theory in basically all the games, but my specialty is NL Hold'em cashgames. Gotten SNE every year it's been running (since 2007.)

Might make a new thread but figured I would try to bump this one first.

Re: Generating Interest for Budapest Poker House

So, I should be moving to Budapest in September (99%). I was planning to rent my own apartment but I might enjoy sharing with a cool guy.

To be honest, my motivation to get an apartment with someone is mainly to get one with a garage so I could put my motorbike there. The thing is apartments with garages start at like 700 EUR and I do not wanna pay that much (talking about districts 5, 6, 7). I have already shared a place with a poker player and it was fun. So it is not like I want a roommate just so I can have a garage

Anyway, anyone interested in sharing from this autumn? I will be staying long term.

I am 29 and pretty easy going.

looking for that time frame, I'm trying to get a 2-3 month rental before I move to south america. If you are interested let me know and we can chat on facebook. Bucharest is also supposed to be insane and can get really nice pad for not too expensive there and awesome stuff there.

I think I will be coming for a trial run Oct-Dec. What have people experience with banking and transferring from Stars to Hungary to USA?
