Re: Estonia

Well, when it comes to Estonia Tallinn and Tartu are only towns worth living in IMO. I'm born in Tallinn and reside in Tartu ATM, and I must say I prefer Tartu. It's nice and cozy here, lots of young people, nice parks, plenty of cafes etc. I disagree that it's boring in summer. It's a matter of taste, really. Tallinn and Tartu relate to each other like New York and San Francisco, in a much smaller scope of course. Tartu has a population of 100 000, although thanks to University of Tartu and long history it's not what we call a "depressive small town". To sum it up, it's pretty cool here. Google it!

Re: Estonia

Really lots of poker players here. Even so, that we have our own football (soccer) team, FC Pokkeriprod. If anybody is interested in coming to Estonia and work out a bit then check out our team We are still learning to beat this game though, 1st season, we've gained just 1 point from 11 matches so far in the league.

I organise and captain it, so if interested, PM.

Someone also asked about Snowboarding opportunities. Here are some slopes with tracks up to 300-400 meters and height differential of about 80 meters but that is it. Many better opportunities in nearby Scandinavia (around 300-500 km from Tallinn) and in more distant Central Europe though. It also cost prolly way less than in US to go boarding many of these places.

I'm probably moving to Estonia as well, but as long as you're prepared for Hodge then you'll be adequately prepared for me.

About this vodka I have quit funny story. It's cheapest vodka (dont know exact prize but I think 0.5l bottle is $6 or so) in estonia but it's quite OK. I dont drink that because there are better alternatives but as I said it's quite OK and drinkable.

My french friend (pokerplayer) was erasmus in Helsinki couple years ago. Then last year he moved to Estonia and he said that if he were in Erasmus they visited Tallinn many times to buy cheap alcohol. And he asked do we still have this good and cheap vodka with red cap I lolled so hard, how the hell french people know this vodka

Re: Estonia

You can pretty much only buy it in Estonia. I dunno why it says import, but it's essentially impossible to buy online or even in speciality liquor stores in the UK.

Re: Estonia

Is it possible to find apartments available for rent on a month-by-month basis in Estonia? Does anybody here have experience with short term leases?
