Not many Americans. Lots of Dutch people. Most the Americans I know here are stationed here by the Air Force.

Bank aaccount is pretty tough to get I heard. It is possibe to get without papers but you need two reference letters from your bank. Though recommended route is getting residency permit which isn't easy.

Hello. The best island for me is Curacao. I think the balance between price and quality is very good. The island has many historical monuments, many beautiful beaches and many features that can make your experience a great one. As far as renting a home, you have many options. I rented a house from the company CuracaoRentalHomes. Personally I stayed in the villa Kas Kinikini. They have decent prices and are very professional. I had a great time! Hope this helps you!

Given the difficulty in staying longer than 3 months, how easy is it to get short term rent contracts and working internet? Anyone know of any serviced apartments that would work?

You can have so much fun in Curacao. You can do a lot of games and activities. I made a video about my vacation so that I can show you what you can do there. The movie clip is here

I ve been there a couple of times
the only game that runs is the 5/5 plo sometimes 5/10 game at the emerald casino/ marriot.
its a mixture of tourists / locals , rake is 5% capped at 15 so def a beatable game compared to other places in the carribean that have uncapped 10% rake

nightlife is pretty good if you know where to go, should definitley get connected to a local if you are there though

I actually just got back from there and had a blast so i can answer some questions but i rarely check the travel forum so pm if you have any i guess

[QUOTE=inJaxwetrust;36026712]Confirmed poker action
20k USD per year, all expenses included is very comfortable living.
30k USD per year, all expenses included is living like a king.

I've been to Curacao (admittedly only for a week) & I find the above very hard to believe. Curacao is not some 3rd World country where the average person lives on a few dollars a day.

When you say $20K a year is a very comfortable living, and 30K a year is "living like a king", what would this life look like? Would this be renting a modern 2 bedroom / 2 bath condo near the beach with a rental car in the driveway, or would this be a 150 meter studio apt off in no man's land with a scooter on your front porch?

I'm at Curacao in march for 2 weeks - so any information would be helpful
I'm in Curacao atm and can confirm that the Marriott is the only place where cash games run. There is a 2/5 NL game during the week and 5/5 PLO on the weekends. Really good action and tons of fun players!
