We are getting off of a cruise ship on September 29, 2017 and have to be in Newark, NJ for the evening of October 2, 2017 to fly back to Louisiana the next day. We are interested in Niagara Falls (bucket list) and are open to rental car, train, plane, or a combination of both. Would really appreciate any suggestions, tips, ideas, recommendations, suggested attractions, etc. Thanks

Haven't been to Quebec City or Old Montreal in ages, but seem to remember it being very pretty - not totally sure, but the drives may be a little bit long to Niagara Falls and NYC, if you only have 3 days? The Buffalo airport is pretty close to the Falls, although flying's expensive ...

Niagara Falls/Buffalo is a pretty popular weekend destination for locals around this area, because the hotels have really cheap deals in the off-season, and there's a casino and cross-border outlet shopping, which can be nice for finding deals on gifts around the holidays.

Like in November, for C$119 the Hilton has a room with a view of the falls, with a free breakfast, 2 drinks, and $30 off a steak dinner!

Although guess in peak season, the prices are much higher, and it looks like there's no free meals?

Maybe Niagara Falls could even be a day trip, if the hotels aren't cheap? Will you be posting photos of your trip after you come home? Am looking forward to those if you are!
