Best places to play live poker in Asia

Hey everyone !

I am looking for a nice place to play live poker in Asia and have done some research on 2+2 and this has been a pain in the ass to find good info so I thought it could be nice to centralize all the info and have everything in one thread.

So help me complete this thread with any knowledge you have on casinos that offers poker in asia, rake, cap, if the game is soft etc etc and I will update it.

Re: Best places to play live poker in Asia

obv Macau is best place to play poker in Asia(though i heard pretty nitty games nowadays and my info is bit old so not going to post) but here is some info about Philippines:
-Rake is every where 10% cap depending on limit(25/50 300, 50/100 400) +if they have bad beat jackpot some goes to it.
-1$roughly 40pesos
-Game starting time varies alot(dependind season, promo etc.)

Cebu(my info about 6months ago when i stayed there over one year)
-Metro(as fortuna) 10/20 starts around 6pm(or if they have freeroll/promo, maybe 4pm), 25/50 usually after 8pm, rarely bigger, daily tournaments(starts around or 8). Lot of regs. Free dinner and ice tea +some other services(depending what stakes you playing)
-AllIN(waterfront lahug) 25/50 starts around 4pm, also 10/20, sometimes bigger, some tournaments, BBJ. lot of regs but some fishes, free dinner, snacks and drinks. Best place to play in Cebu
-Oriental(casino in parkmall), had some tournaments but when i left it was strugling to get cash game going.
-Diamond(near waterfront) not much experience on ths one but had some tournaments and smaller cash games
-Waterfront Mactan also had poker room but again not much info on it

Davao(5months this year)
-Metro(between gaisano mall and Marco polo) cash game(10/20 or 25/25) starts around 7pm often 25/50, rarely bigger, daily tournaments. Free ice tea or coffee, some snacks around 11pm, free beer on mondays, live music
-Grand reagal(bit far from downtown) game start late(maybe 10pm) but not enough players everyday 25/50, sometimes smaller or bigger. Best free service i have encountered(you can have pizza or pasta etc.)

Angeles(just few days this month but gona go get some more)(overall many drunken fishes playing here but smoking is generaly allowed)
-Double A(fields) 25/50 start around 6pm, daily tournaments. Free dinner, snacks and drinks. They were running some win by 69 hand get 500 promo
-Wild aces(near fields) 20/40 start around 6pm, also 10/20 sometimes bigger, daily tournaments? Free sandwiches, dinner and drinks.
-Century(casino) Game started very early(even around noon?) there coz they were running some promo but some tables close way before midnight 10/20 and 25/50 some tournaments. Free dinner, snacks and drinks. You were not allowed to smoke in table but was open space so did not eliminate all the smoke.
-There should be couple of more poker rooms in Angeles so if someoen has info about them, plz let me know

Re: Best places to play live poker in Asia

Thanks Killah, very interesting.

So it seems I can't edit my thread due to forum rules, so much for my sweet presentation

Here's some info about Manila live action from sourbluff.

Quote:
Resorts World - very nice comfortable. Much like a Vegas style casino. Dealers are fairly new for most part but decent Food is over priced and service staff is awful. Do give free soda No tipping which adds to profitability

25/50 with buyin 2k - 10k. Usually 4 or more games running. Average buyin probably 3k but usually at least 3 decent stacks on table. If I'm profitable is proof games has value

50/100 with buyin 4k - 30k. Always at least one table occasionally 2. Only played a couple times so can't tell much but looks to be fairly consistent line up.

Bigger games/Omaha - sporadic and when do run always looks to be same group of players. Have not played so can't really comment on action

Tournaments - they have recently added a weekly 100k guarn that is upped to 1million once per month. Have daily satellites to both. Satellites tend to be nit fests and rather soft.

****cashes games have gone to a 5% rake with 300 cap per hand. This should make games much more profitable.

Metro Walk - run down feels like have put nothing into up keep. Dealers more seasoned and over all better but not by wide margin. Much better food selection as can order at table from any of several restos. They also give a small simple free meal to all players around 7pm each evening. Service very good but charge for everything including soda and bottled water. Do tip dealers which cuts into profit

10/20 - with buyin ?? - 2k. Usually 10 or more tables. Very soft lot of short buys. Obviously limited profit potential but fun to play while waiting for

25/50 - with buyin 1k - 5k. Usually 2 to 3 tables. Lot of short buys. Lot of guys who seem to be playing on house credit. Play generally soft and fairly passive. Has value but rarely see stacks above 10k.

50/100 or Omaha - appears to run occasionally. Don't think is ever more one table and seems to break early. They do occasionally have game in private room but not sure what stakes. I've have not played but from limited watching has decent stacks and action looked good.

Tournament - they have I think 2 daily guarn tournies. They are well ran with decent structures. They have also started a leader board with decent prizes and a 2million guarn I think every other month. Play has seemed pretty tight in few I've played but are some solid creative players

**Rake is 10% with a 300 cap per hand.

Re: Best places to play live poker in Asia

I only played here once last August, but here's what I can recall for Nagaworld in Phnom Penh:

Stakes/number of tables/When do the games start/end? : 1/2$ was the only game running the weeknight when I played, but I've heard 2-5$ runs often and once in a while $5-10.
Rake : %10 up to 5$ max.
Tourneys : No clue.
Fishyness : Similar to what you'd expect at $1-2, maybe even a tad bit softer as there are fewer grinders and more tourists. Overall, a winning 2-5 or 5-10 reg should destroy the game assuming you can play good ABC poker.
Any other info : Free beers available. Also, the 1-2$ game was $200 min, no max buy in, so it plays pretty deep. I think only foreigners are allowed to play at Naga. For your own presence of mind, I'd prob arrange for a ride through the casino as opposed to just hailing down a tuk tuk driver outside the casino.

You can't edit your own threads on that board so I won't but if someone can tell us what the poker offer is there, he is welcome to do so. I'm actually quite curious how it is over there, it must be quite expensive.

Here is a pic taken at Resort World Manila on a Tuesday night :

Interesting to see that min buy in is 150bb for 100/200+ games and it seems that PLO players won't be left behind there.

Re: Best places to play live poker in Asia

Subscribed, I'd really like a comprehensive list. Add Singapore to the list,I believe Resort world Sentosa has 5/10 SGD as the lowest limit that runs with a quite ridiculous rake of 5% up to 50 SGD. I wouldn't go there for the poker specifically.

Played at Metro Davao. They had 2 10/20 tables running with a 300min 3000 max buyin. A few stacks in the 8-10k range. Was a really fun and action packed game. Having played in a few AC cash games just before I came down I was sick and tired of just brutal nittyness. This was the opposite lots of small money splashing around and guys were more than happy to get full stacks in with top pair etc..

We then got a 25/25 PLO game which ran 6 handed whilst I was there. From the start it was always straddled. Min buyin was 3k max was 30k. I didn't have much cash on me but after losing my second buyin I wasn't totally happy in the game. Not that it wasn't beatable it was. There was a Fil-Am who was just learning the game who obv had money who was laughable bad. It's just I was the only non-filipino on the table. There were too many hands which went to the flop 3 handed that when I was bet out of the pot they just checked it down announcing there hand on the turn to what they had. This happened in other hands where I wasn't involved that they would happily bet/call the flop then check it down in some sort of deal.

The action in this game as well was generally fast and loose.

Downsides-no free stuff. Did buy a Mutton Curry though which was superb. Would recommend whatever restaurant that came from.

I've found a poker board about Manila, it seems that regs are complaining about games getting tougher.

A live low-mid game in asia and regs are complaining about games getting tougher? Are these regs even good enough to beat NL10 online? I don't want to come off as a douche here but come on?

I keep hearing good things about Cebu Philippines. I was there as a child years ago. Probably a good place to live. Laid back culture.

Metro Card club Manila (Ortigas). Confirm they have changed rate to 5% with 300 cap per hand.

New World Casino - Saigon, Vietnam :

One 2/4$ NLHE electronic table 4-5 times a week. 3% uncapped. Most of the times the game is pretty nitty and reg infested but can occasionally be soft.

Bellagio - Colombo, Sri Lanka :

Not sure for this one but here is the one line reply I got from them :

Quote:
We have everyday game S/B 500 1000 M/B 50k & 100k
500/1000 LKR is a bit less than 4/8$.

Apparently poker is new there so it would be surprising they have high stakes games in such a poor country like this but hey that's an official answer so I guess someone will have to check it out.

When I was there in April, only two casinos offered poker, Wynn and StarWorld. I heard PokerStars is planning on opening another poker room in Macau, not sure where and when.

I only played the lowest limits at HK$ 50/100. At Wynn there were either no tables spreading that (only starting at HK$ 100/200), or the waiting list was ridiculously long. There typically were a few tables of 100/200 going at either casino at any time I checked in, though.

Difficult to compare nittiness as I rarely play live but the game felt soft enough. There were usually two or three players splashing chips during the 3 or 4 times I played.

Re: Best places to play live poker in Asia

Would people say Manila is better than Macau now for the small stakes player because of the significantly lower rake?

Macau rake 5% up to ~$32 (250 HKD)
Manila rake 5% up to ~$7 (300 PHP)

Manila is 10% rake.

Also the guy posting about nagaworld rake: is that up to date? A while back they changed it to 20 dollars max but lower %. They might have changed it back though since it pissed people off a lot.
