Anyone use BBVA Bancomer and know how to send an international wire? I assume you just go to the bank and initiate it because I can't find it on the online banking site. Emailed the person at the bank but they haven't gotten back to me. Also I thought I had a preferred cutomer account and could use that line at the bank. I had a slip of paper that said I could use that line but the guy took it today and held up a gold card that I needed to get or something. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I have a gold card good for one year, the lady who opened my account gave it to me. Ask them for it.

As far as the wire, haven't tried it yet but let me know if you find of any way other than going to the bank. Wish it was online.

We have had a lot of success with CI Banco. A number of our clients, including one from France just last week, was able to open an account with only a tourist visa.

Feel free to check our website for directories of banks in Playa del Carmen.http://american-development.com

So I withdraw a mid $X,XXX cashout from stars via wire transfer to my bank. The amount I received was about $87 less than I cashed out due to the EURO--> $, plus a $22 fee from Bancomer. I withdrew in US$ though so cash in hand is nice.

That's not bad at all.

Going from Moneybookers USD -> Mexico USD -> USA USD cost me ~$75-85 iirc. That was all just wire fees.

jesus seems like alot of people are getting raped lately....I did stars --> MB USD --> santander peso --> convert pesos to USD and total vigs were $30

actually made a couple hundred the first time i did it since MB cashed me out at 13.7 and I converted back to USD at like 12.5 due to fluctuations.

I guess if you western union the $$ back to the USA or something it would cost a bit more. My next mission is to find the cheapest way to do this. prob need to research intl bank options where I can do vig free xfers from HSBC (mex) to HSBC (usa) or something like that. for now i can just hand my mom cash when she comes to visit and she throws it in my account

That is an awesome rate boliver, but it that mostly based on how you shopped your currency conversion rate? So it is not something you can count on? Plus sending from Santander to a US bank costs $35-$55 on top right.

FINALLY!!!

I have successfully gone Stars -> MB (USD) -> Mexican Bank account (USD) -> US Bank account.

Stars -> MB = Free
MB -> Mex Bank = $22 charge from Bank, regardless of amount.
Mex Bank -> US Bank = $25+$35 for outgoing wire and incoming wire.

Total of $82 for any amount. Obviously nothing special if you're cashing out relatively small amounts, but saaaaweeeeeeeet if you're cashing out a few hundred k!

How did you go about getting a USD account in Playa?

Take a vacation in Rosarito. The vig you save going forward is probably worth a 3 or 6-month lease for a lot of grinders, whatever it takes to successfully get a USD account set up there.

didn't shop the rate per-se, but rosarito gives bad rates, america gives worse, and tijuana gives the best, so I went there. If you have more than a few grand you can negotiate the rate in your favor even more.

idk about wire xfers from mexico to US, I either walk across with cash and deposit money into US bank or have someone do it for me when friends/family come to visit. I do know that schwab will waive incoming intl. wire xfer fees, which is normally ~$30-50 for alot of banks.

No way. I have free on one major bank account, $3 from my credit union, and $15 from another major bank.

The outgoing wire fees from Mexico are a bitch however.

Anyone have any good tips on how to get your Skrill/MB limits removed? I have VIP status, but now they want me to go have a bunch of stuff notarized and sent back in.

Has anyone here cashed out to Santander? I'm wondering what the fees are like to send and receive a wire - if it's some flat fee, or a % of the transaction, etc.

Thank you for this! This is exactly what I was looking for. Was your Mexican bank Santander?

Also, any idea if there is a fee to go from Stars directly to my santander account (different from the moneybookers->bank fee?)?

If you went directly from Stars to Santander there would be rather large fees. The Stars wires are sent in EUR, so assuming the Santander account is in USD, you would have to pay whatever rate Santander gives you (most likely 1.5-5.0%), then most likely 2 incoming wire fees (2x$25) since they'll use an intermediary bank.

It is difficult to get a USD account in Mexico that actually has a Mexican SWIFT code. If the USD account is routed through another country, then it doesn't work.

Im living in puebla havnt even tried to get a usd account here because i heard it was not possible unless you live in a border state or deposit 15k. is this true? If not im planning on going stars > mb usd > mex bank pesos > american bank usd. Any suggestions?

That would work, but you could just skip the MB portion and wire directly from Stars. I've had them wire EUR directly to my MXN peso account - no problems (other than the vig).
