Hello everyone,

I'm looking for suggestions on where to move. I'm currently 24 single and living in CT. Pretty sick of it here and trying to move somewhere for at least a year or 2. My budget as far as apartment wise is around $1000 a month. So far i have been mainly looking at south Florida but looks like its a bit to expensive to live anywhere without a terrible crime rate. Tampa looks like the front runner as of right now.

Really my only requirements are nice weather and a good amount of outdoor activities/things to do. Also being near professional sports teams, particularly baseball, is a huge plus. Like i said i only plan on living there for a year or 2 so im mainly looking for a good life experience type of thing.

Any suggestions would help, thank you!

I haven't really looked at Cali because I assume it's a bit out of the price range

Denver. World-class skiing not far away if that's your thing. A nice amount of open space for hiking, biking, etc.

Baseball might be a problem though. We do have the Rockies...but there's always an opponent to go see.

For experience, you might try Boulder, but it's relatively expensive housing. Not sure about renting, though; with CU there and so many college students, I'd guess it can't be too bad. Great atmosphere, always something going on.

$1000? That seems really low for America.

If life is that cheap there, I might move back.

Barring roommates, at $1k/month for rent, you're pretty much not gonna be living in any downtown areas unless your apartment is run down or the city you're living in isn't that nice.

I've been looking at different areas and found a brand new tiny studio in downtown St. Pete for about $1250/month before utilities.

If you like hot weather and want a progressive city, maybe try Austin. Pretty sure I'm gonna move there in a couple months. $1k/month won't allow you to live super close to 6th St. (the main nightlife hub), but you can find places for $900-1k in neighbourhoods close by that are only ~$7 cab ride away.

I'd be looking at Texas. Austin is nice. Weather is good you're always within driving distance of the ocean. Also the bbq is the best in the world.

How about southern new jersey right maybe a couple minutes of philadelphia. You get live poker from PA casinos, you get legal online poker in jersey and philadelphia has all the pro sports. $1000 a month is possible if you look around but im not sure about if its gonna be in the best of areas.
