I am considering spending some time in Hungary and would really like to read more things about it.

What are the laws regarding online poker? Are all sites available? Are winnings taxed?

How much is the average rent for a 2 bedroom apartment in a city?

Is it generally a safe country? Crime, tap water safety, food safety etc?

How is the nightlife?

Recommendations on where to live and things to go and see?

Anything else I should know?

I'm between budapest and Prague.There isn't much of a live scene in Hungary from what I have heard.Nightlife is great.Others would be more qualified to answer your other q's.

The live scene I found while on vacation was at Lurdy Haz (a mall, took a taxi & poker place is on top floor behind a resturant for cash area. They do Mississippi straddle...

The table max signs are more of a suggestion than a rule. Free Buffet...drinks and any other food you must pay. No tipping dealers.

No clue on apt prices. It seemed everything was cheap.

Now for Prague, the live cash game is hard to find as well. Ambassador Casino in Wencelas Square is the only place I heard that is NLHE. They only have like 3 tables. Drinks & food is free. I had fun and won money in both places. Prague was much more fun in my opinion. It is also very cheap.

budapest is amazing

all sites + free of tax i believe
500e for a decent 2 bed
i never felt in danger there
nightlife is brilliant
plenty

So i had to delete all my files and deleted stars.

Im currently in budapest and went to download stars.

It took me to pokerstars.eu/hu and says sorry the page is unavailable. Anyone else had this problem?

So does anyone if stars is available there or other big sites? It seems the gvt banned stars because they weren't paying the license?

Anyone grinding online in Hungary today? Considering going back but read that several sites don't allow players from Hungary anymore. Microgaming and 888 for example.

I used to play in countries that blocked sites and it was never a problem since they only blocked the website. Not the actual poker client. But it seems worse that the sites providing the games block certain countries.

Anyone playing there right now? Which sites are you on?

Playing on stars, 888, wina, party, william hill. No problems, didn't change my adress to a Hungarian fwiw.
