I've trained there and I'm heading there tonight actually. It's a cool spot. The trainers are very friendly.

Have you spoken with them about getting an education visa?

I booked my flight today for the 17th May and was advised that insurance won't be valid, so what shall I do in this situation?

What injections etc will I need to have? or what medicine etc should I get?

Also, I am only going for 18 days or so, therefore I do not need a visa, is this correct?

Thanks

i think you are too late with your vaccinations. for hep shots you need a month in advance. i'd go to doctor ASAP(like now) and see what shots you got already and what more you need

if you arrive(by air) without a visa you will get a 30 day permission of stay so no, you dont need a visa

Highly considering moving out to Thailand at year end or beginning of 2011, what is the MTT community like out there?

I never actually had time to get my shots when I first came here and never got around to it since then. It's going on two years pretty soon. I wonder if I'm asymptomatic, running good or what. I love swimming in the lakes, eat food off the street about 4 times a week, etc.

What's wrong with you people that don't get shots?

Don't you realize how dumb it is not to get them? For a low cost and very little hassle you can virtually eliminate any chance of catching a multitude of nasty, possibly life-altering/ending illnesses.

Has anybody bookmarked certain pages of this thread that they found particularly helpful? I have read maybe a 1/5 of this ask us about thailand thread but would really appreciate anyone who could post some links to some of the most helpful/entertaining posts that have been made here. I am planning on moving out to thailand with a friend and would love to get a collection of the jewels of this thread to read & study up on that might help us and give us further insight about the best decisions to make & how to make the most of our move. I thank all of the regular posters that have helped everyone out. Rutang especially for answering some of my questions with such detail last week. Hope to kick it with all u guys out there in a few months. Gl at the tables fellas ~ Tony

I haven't bookmarked much anything. i guess i should have.

step 1: read the sticky

step 2: read x last posts from the threads

step 3: search the thread for specific info

step 4: ask if something is still not clear

people tend to be confused about different things so it's just easier to answer everyone one at a time

I didn't know any better. I didn't have a helpful stranger on the internet heckling me a bout it and I didn't have the presence of mind to do any research for it myself.

I have them now though. That oughta tell you something.

Does anybody know if any theaters in BKK do midnight showings (Iron Man 2). I called around to a few but most didn't pick up their listed phone number.

Can someone tell me what the best movie theater to watch Iron Man 2 in Phuket is? I've been to the one in Central festival a couple times but am wondering if the one in Patong is better?

if they have it on at the first class cinema in Central Festival then that will be by far the best. If not then Jungcelyon and Central Festival are pretty much identical I think

Cool, I'll shoot for the 1st class at Central. Thanks, yo

They are pretty similar although more than a few times I've experienced the one in Patong smelling like someone spraypainted the toilet bowls with diarrhea
then again I've had the one in Central cut off the movie halfway through and not being able to get it back on for 30 minutes.
Tough choice =[
