welcome to PM me your skype if you like. i'm quite boring lol and not in the main bkk skype chat thing but i'm sure one of the other thread regs can help you out

that's what i did briefly too, quite a good way to meet lots of people then move on to poker once you get settled in, bored of it and want more free time and cash. schools often offer 6 month contracts and via agencies you can do even less

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

Hi there. I am looking to move to either Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or Phuket from 1st August. There will be myself and two girls, therefore would idelaly recquire a 3bedroom house, but am also looking for a 2bedroom house if there are no 3's... I got sent a link by a 2+2'er I have on skype, saying you guys in that FB group may be able to help with reaosnable priced accomodation (i.e. not tourist prices). No worries if i've got the wrong end of the stick, and the FB page is just a community page for 'social gatherings etc..'

Thanks!

James

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

^from what I read you need to take a ferry to Koh Lann/Laan sorry dont know the spelling, for nice beaches. Pattaya beaches are meant to be dirty and water polluted .

I'll be at the Londoner on Wednesday sometime after 6:00 pm. I have a thing for the bitter cream there, and can't say no when its 2 for 1

Koh Larn has nice beaches (you can visit like all of them in one day if you rent a motorbike). These are also the only nice beaches in the area. Pattaya beach is ugly and dirty most of the time. Jomtien Beach is nicer but can also be pretty dirty (rubish everywhere).

touristy things - there is this fun park there. they have several attractions but the most interesting would probably be the tower that you can "jump" off.

also saw a go kart track in pattaya.

Smiley: *looks at me as i walk in* oh hell no, what the **** do you think you want?
Me: I'm here to apply for a tourist visa Here's all the documents...
Smiley: Jesus ****ing christ don't even bother you probably ****ed up 90% of it. *Glances at my application form* Oh I'm sooooo surprised, you screwed up here *points at paper* and here *points again*.
Me: Oh, I'm sorry, i did the best I could
Smiley: That's ****ing embarrassing if true. Anyway, focus real hard and see if you can mobilize all 4 of your brain cells and do it correctly.
Me: *Hands her the newly filled in form* My friends said it's possible to get a 90 days visa?
Smiley: Nope *******
Me: Ok, I'm not doubting you or anything it's just tha
Smiley: You get 60 days, if you're lucky, you worthless waste of human flesh

So basically she said I can only get 60 days. I think she implied that I would have to reschedule my return flight, because I've booked it to stay 90 days, but she will only give me 60. Are you guys 100% positive that I can get another 30 days when I land at the airport? When I tried to suggest this to Smiley, she looked at me as if I was mentally retarded. Should I reschedule my return flight, or should I just ignore her and hope that I can get an extra 30 days when I arrive?
Ya thats standard procedure. For your first 60 days, you have a visa so you don’t need to show a flight ticket out of the country yet. You do need to have purchased your ticket into the country for them to stamp your visa.

After roughly 60 days, you go the immigration office and get an extension. For this extension you do need to show do your intentions of leaving within the next 30days, hence you need a plane/train ticket out of the country. That’s in theory, but I’ve been told they don’t really look into the ticket. It could be a bit more than 30days from then and there’s a significant chance they wouldnt see it nor care.
