Re: Ask us about Thailand!

It's probably more likely she lied about her age or is just stupid?

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

It's possible she lied about her age, but she showed me an obviously fake ID (picture wasn't her). There is no doubt there are a great deal of underage girls working in bars in Thailand, and they are not confined to Thai-only places.

Illegals are not that uncommon, I know for a fact one working in Pattaya is 17 and has been working for 2 years. Every trip I come across at least one that is underage. In the Thai brothels its really common so I am led to believe.........

It seems many people in the USA think that the majority of men who come to Thailand, go to have sex with underage girls.. Unfortunately, western media and the femininazis do a good job of perpetuating this..

Ladyboys is the comment I get a lot. I don't even tell most people I come here now, apart from close family who need to know where I am. Some people would make sneaky comments so I thought it was best to keep quiet about it.

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

yeah, i don't either bring it up either. They often bring up how they saw on TV that a lot of men go to LOS have sex with children. The only people who had anything good to say were ex-military..

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

Arrived in bangkok this morning with really no plan. im going to phuket in 3 days so just needed somewhere to stay untill then. heard someone in this thread say to get a taxi to soi 11 and just walk around looking for hotels to stay at. Taxi meter read 203 and he charged me 320 because of toll fee's, i argue'd a bit but he really wasn't giving in.... (guess it's normal for them to do this?)

Walked around a bit and only saw a couple more niceish looking hotel's (marriot, which was way too expensive!) Ended up walking into Landmark, got a room for 3800 and internet is an extra 680/day. way out of my budget but i really didn't want to walk around anymore!!

Guess i will have to research somewhere for the next 2 nights to try and get something for around 1/2 that price :s

Also im here alone, anyone wanna reccommend any bars/clubs to goto to atleast try to socialise?

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

If you are alone I suggest just staying at a hostel if you want to meet people.

There is an IBIS on Soi 4 mate, will be around the 1200 mark. Decent clean rooms. Also The Dawin Hotel is next door, thats around the 1500-1800 mark I think. You have also got some of the infamous nightlife on your doorstep which you have to go and at least look at even if you don't partake...........

I'm no Bkk expert but at least there is a couple of suggestions to get you going and you have plenty of places to go for beers on your doorstep.

Re: Ask us about Thailand!

You could also just search on http://www.agoda.com for the next 2 nights and see what comes up. There's a ton of hotels around the Sukhumvit area for 1-2k a night, and you'll most likely get cheaper rates than booking direct with the hotel.

that would probably suck more

------
if for some reason you dont find somebody to roll out, just roll out solo imo
if your on or near 11 you have a variety of options far as clubs go. bed supper, qbar down the street, and climax.

sounds like your a total newb in which case id say climax(mostly if not all working girls) would be the best spot to ease into your new surroundings. its under the ambassador hotel on soi 11.

when i first came to bangkok i went out solo a few times and i definitely remember most of those nights as some very interesting things happened.

Don't worry you weren't ripped off. Theres a 50 Baht surcharge for taxis from the airport which isn't written anywhere or mentioned 'til the end of the journey, it's a bit weird. And the 2 toll gates into central bkk from the airport add to 65 baht in total iirc, usually drivers ask for the cash from you but he obviously didn't speak English well/didn't think you'd understand so he paid them. 95% of taxi drivers aren't out to rip anyone off. Tuk tuks on the other hand...

Soi 4 and Soi 23 have the red light districts/lots of bars, Bush Bar near Soi 15 is pretty friendly, Climax is a cheap and nightclub on Soi 11, Bangkok Beats has nice people and live music on Soi 7
