Hi, currently back in Euroland and coming soon back to Thailand.

Before I always just sent money directly from my bank to kasikorn but due to gambling tax changes starting next year I would prefer to not use my bank account too much anymore.

Currently have skrill USD account and planning and to make neteller EUR account and order cards from them before flying back.
Does skrill/neteller cards work in Thailand?
Is it possible to send money from skrill/neteller to kasikorn directly if I have them both with European address?
Thanks.

I sent money from neteller to bangkok bank, although it failed the first time and you get a bad exchange rate.

I sent to SCB from Skrill many times but the problem is if your skrill account is in USD. If so you have to send in another currency other than USD and then your Thai Bank, in your case Kasikorn, will convert it to Baht. So 2 forex conversions. The conversion into Baht by a Thai bank is almost always competitive in my experience but the conversion by Skrill will not be. I have just switched my Skrill from USD to EUR and am hoping this will be a lot cheaper going forward.

Just got in with only about 8 days left on my ED visa (have to extend) through the fast-track immigration at Suvarnabhumi. I was the only guy there and the IO didn't even ask for flight out or anything.

Speaking of which, DON'T USE flyonward.com . This is the 2nd time they screw me over and this time was 100% their mistake, I never received the email containing the ticket (yes i checked junk files). Sent them an email and then a message through their support ticket, never heard back from them. I sent those about 2h and 12h in during the 48h period it was booked for.

Leaving BKK for a few months, and getting rid of some of my things. jspill and others in this thread can confirm my identity and legitimacy if needed. PM me if you are interested in anything from the list. I live in central BKK:

- LG 29UM65-P Ultrawide Monitor (29"; 2560x1080 resolution; ). Used, about 2.5 years old. No issues, minor imperfection at base of monitor.
- Samsung 34" SE790 Monitor 21:9 Ultra-wide Curved (3560x1440 resolution). Used for about 8 months. In pristine condition. No issues. With original box and contents.
- IKEA Bekant desk (160x80 cm). Birch verneer/white. Used for 8 months. In good condtion.
- IKEA Markus chair. Used approximately 1 year. Structural integrity of the chair is maintained. Noticeable wear on the faux leather of the chair, but only superficial.
- APC UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) (650VA) in use for about 10 months. No issues during usage.
- 32KG Kettlebell. As new. Indoor usage on matts only.
- 24KG Kettlebell. Like new. Indoor usage on matts only.
- Pixma iP2770 inkjet printer with XL black and white and colour cartridges (more than half full).
- Hatari HT-S16D4 fan. Approx. 110 cm height (adjustable).
- Beurer GS 2xx scale. (Black with dots)

Yeah I also heard it's best to send EUR from e-wallets to Thai bank. That's why I plan to make neteller EUR account and use that on sites that use EUR and send that money to Thai bank for cash to pay rent etc.
And then use skrill USD for USD sites and use skrill card for purchases where I can use mastercard.

Or would it be better to change skrill from USD to EUR and make neteller USD account?

Thanks for suggestions. Haven't used transfer wise and also I'm late to cryptocurrencies.
Is it possible to to do skrill/neteller -> transferwise or bitcoins -> THB ?

It's just always been 0% tax for gambling profit and I always used bank. From next year they plan to introduce 20% tax on gambling winnings (not profit) which is insane so I want to avoid using bank from next year till I can see what will be going on. If they change it to 20% of profit it would normal and ok.

Just looking for best way with least fees and currency exchanges to get money from pokersites to Thai bank with avoiding using my home bank account.

Even if it's by Silom road most 2+2ers I know who lived there ended up saying they wouldn't choose to live there again.

The Nana / Asoke / Phrom Phong / Thonglor area (lower to mid Sukhumvit road) is just a cooler area to live, more stuff to do, the 'centre' whether you like the red light stuff or not. It's a hassle in traffic to get there from Silom. On BTS you'll have to change trains at Siam.

If you're planning to be in thailand long term then maybe go for it, it's a cheap price for only 1 month, although I suspect it's in the middle of nowhere and not that great for that price because airbnb is usually a bit of a ripoff. But you can get to know Silom well then move elsewhere after, take that time to shop around for the perfect spot.

If you only have 1 month in Thailand and that's it, then I'd look for better and spend more for comfort / convenience. But anyway you'll have fun wherever you end up because it'll all be new and fresh. You'll have a lot more patience for living in awkward spots.
Thank you very much for this in depth response. How about this location:

http://imgur.com/a/tUMgp

About the same price, a little shabbier of an apartment, but it seems that the location is much better. However, this one's 10-15min walk from BTS and the first one was 5min.

If you have never been to Thailand before and you have a visa, you should be ok without a ticket.

They advertise it as a standing desk. I guess it depends how you would use it standing. It's this model:

http://www.ikea.com/th/en/catalog/products/S59022793/

So maximum height is 85 cm. You have to unscrew it to adjust the height though, there is no crank or anything.

Yes, you need an onward ticket. From what I hear, visa runs over the land boarder are still quite doable. Though perhaps avoid making it too obvious (same day departure and arrival). If you could do mini vacations, that would be better.

It's not an immigration requirement, Thailand doesn't need an onward ticket unlike the Philippines.

It's just a few airlines are anal and want to see one in case they have to pay to repatriate you, often USA ones. But they usually back down if you say no look I have a tourist visa so that lessens the chance of me being denied entry, or no Thailand doesn't require one, or just sign some form saying you'll cover the cost in the event you're denied entry.

Or just arrive at check in 2-3 hrs before, if they insist then quickly book one on bestonwardticket.com on your phone, go get coffee, it arrives in 30 mins, then go check in and show them the email.

Who's on ThaiFriendly these days?

I made a colossal mistake by signing up and sending some messages a month before I arrive in Thailand. I already have problems with paying too much attention to my phone and getting addicted to the dopamine rush of notifications; now, I'm completely ****ed.

Obviously I'm super hansum, but wow. I downloaded Line yesterday and already have like a dozen or so contacts on there all sending me dumb stickers.
