I've got bets with 3 overly optimistic estate agents in Pattaya that gambling and casinos will not be legal within five years, these guys are thinking it's gonna happen within 12 months from now. Including someone connected to the company who published that April fools article.
There are a few caveats such as, one government run casino in a 'zone' dedicated for tourists only wouldn't count for example.

No way it happens within 12 months but I wouldn't bet either way on five years. Lots of guys I know who are pretty connected feel that there is a very good chance in the next couple of years.
It was five years from the day the king passed away.
So even if you say 'no way' in next 12 months but a couple years after that, that would be 4/5 years from my bet date, so your more inline with my view than those i bet against who said within 2 (LOL) years of his death.
Plus with my clauses I'd say i am 99.5% guaranteed to win.

Is there a something I didn't see properly with bx.in.th pricing and operation? Seems too good to be true.
Last 2 times I went through Suvarnabhumi immigration I was blocked for about like 1h both times. I don't really know why. Was I just unlucky or is there something about me ? Something I do wrong ?
It happened similarly both times. I arrive at the airport and at the immigration control counter, just before the luggages area, the person at the counter asks me a few questions. I don't remember the 1st time but the 2nd time being very fresh I remember he asked me if I talk thai ? Does it have anything to do with the fact I was on a student visa ? I answered no just a little bit... Then he asked word for word : how long you stay in Thailand ? I answered 3 years but I'm not sure. Was the question how long have you been in Thailand ? Or how long do you plan to stay in Thailand in which case i should have answered 1 month as my student visa was over and I needed a month to get all the papers and go to Laos to apply for my next student visa so I basically needed a visa on arrival.
Then he asks me to wait on the side and then someone else arrives and takes me appart in like a small office and asks me a bunch of questions...
When he asks me how have you been sustaining yourself for the last 3 years here in Thailand ? I remembered the 1st time I was in this situation I replied that my parents have money they can sponsor me which didn't seem to convince the immigration officer at all. So this time I wanted to try something new so I replied I work online naively hoping that would be enough. It wasn't of course so I tried webdesigner.

It wasn't a lie and it wasn't good for me as I didnt have a phone and that computer was the only way to contact my gf so she could help me get me out of here.
But of course I was thinking what if he opens my computer and sees all the poker rooms, all the poker software, and all the poker related bookmarks on my google page how would the man react ? Could it get me in trouble ?
What if I answered straight to him I play online poker for a living how bad could it be ? Because when you think about it to them poker players are just farangs taking money from other farangs on farang websites, no thais damaged here, and then use their money in the thai economy right ?
Anyway after that he asks me if i have a shop in Thailand. I answer what ? NO ! and I think this time it sounded convincing as it is the truth.
Finally I tell him : alright come on give me back my passport and let me go back and buy a plane ticket to vietnam or cambodia whatever many cool countries in this world. If thailand dont want farangs anymore mai pen rai it doesnt have to be Thailand.
It was a stone cold bluff it has to be Thailand my life is here now.
It worked ! He gives me a pissed off look, stamps my passport and gives it back to me and tells me : ok just go now but it sounded like alright **** off now.
So questions are what are they mainly affraid of ? That I work in Thailand on a student visa which means that I work illegally right ? So then it has to happen to a lot of people because there are so many guys here on student visas for years who are playing poker for a living or are other kind of digital nomads... What should I answer then next time about what I do ?
I don't know if this detail is relevant at all or not but I had an overstay of about 10 days a while back. I have a new passport now but do they have this info on their computer anyway ?

Happened to me in January, lot of people had similar issues recently. Try to avoid overstays at all cost, and if possible leave the county 1-2months several times a year, leave gaps between your visits.
Don't leave valuables in Thailand, you might lose them if they deport you.
When you fly in, use "fast track service" (google it) to skip lines. 2000 baht with limousine transfer to your crib. Have 20k CASH on you (super important), bank statements, an onward ticket. Look wealthy, dress well. Come with a visa.
Have a thai (girl-)friend ready to answer questions by phone, a landlord is good too.
Avoid telling them ****. You have money, that's it. New passports are useful for embassies (when you apply for visas) but not so much at immigration, you are still on records.
Yea I will always remember the 1st time I was asked to show money. I didn't have any but I showed my debit card. The immigration officer said no not count. I said what ? look just let me go to the atm just there I can withdraw and show you money. He said again no no not count I want to see money.
