i enjoy thailand and south-east asia in general. night life is one part and becomes less important with every trip.

whenever i have been to on nut i see these young guys in their mid-20's with issan girlfriends that look like they're in their mid-30's. living the dream...

what kind of lake are we talking about here?
A chain of like 8 lakes where all the pasty white guys take their families. Back in the day my HS buds and I would go with like 30 people and just party for the whole summer. Most got married with the puppies and its a whole new scene. Once-in-a-while some single guy will show up with a bikini and we have flashbacks to the old days, but getting rarer as time goes by.

Is this true? Why do you prefer to monger in TL over the PI. And I call BS that you only think five minutes a day about this stuff Mr. Lol, your whole existence is tied to your trips. If you say otherwise you are the same as this Yellow Fever chap who now sees the light, and for him to say he was never with the Ladyboys is suspect.

Do you live in Thailand at the moment TheGlee? Sounds like you didn't go the married with kids route, but you're chastising Lol69 and Yellowfever for fully enjoying the yolo of the bachelor lifestyle.

What are you, a fu cking monk? What way do you do it?

You should be able to tell most ladyboys are ladyboys long before you get to the taking off of clothes part.

I got invited to a 250-500 nl game and was invited back (probably bc I give action and I lost) but there was another kid who played about 10 hands all night. After he left, they made it pretty clear he wouldn't be allowed to play again.

I want to cashout neteller - thai bank, never used neteler before.

Should i make a thai bank usd account in order to avoid the 3.4% neteler exchange fee and then transfer from usd acc to thai baht acc?

Also how long would it usually take for the transfer?

Which bank would you recommend? i can do any bank and any type of account.

Whats the best neighborhood for me and my wife to live in for a month to get the most out of Bangkok? Can split between 2 or 3 neighborhoods over a month if thats recommended. Thanks.

If I get fined for riding a motorbike with no license does my name/info go in some kind of database that will recognize me in the future? This is my second fine for motorbiking and I just want to know if this is going to cause me some sort of problems in the future, for example if I want to reapply for a Thai visa.

I wouldn't recommend switching places too much, takes a long time to "discover" everything in a given neighborhood. I'd say book your first place for 1-2 weeks, then you'll see if you want to move or not. As far as the best neighborhood, since you will be here as a tourist for the most part, you should definitely stay in a fairly central location so you can get to all attractions easily.

The central point of Bangkok is around Siam-Asok BTS, so staying along the Sukhumvit BTS line should be ideal (or maybe the MRT line but close to Asok). The fanciest neighborhood is Thong Lor (around Thong Lor station), with a ****ton of good restaurants/bars, etc etc but it doesn't have as much of a "Thai feeling" if that's what you're looking for, and also depends on your budget. Anything from Nana BTS to On Nut BTS could be ok depending on your preference (generally the further away you go from Siam BTS the more busto it is, with the exception of Thong Lor and to some degree Ekkamai)

I can't say 100%, but i'm pretty sure they don't, and simple traffic violation doesn't have anything to do with visa anyway.

It's a 3rd world country, if anything they would probably be more happy to let you in if they see you're leaving alot of money there that way

I can vouch for this(living in Indonesia and have many immigration friends).. traffic violation doesn't have anything to do with immigration things, with exception: you doing crime and get a sentence in jail..

No, just cashout from your neteller to the Thai bank in USD, and let the thai bank do the conversion from USD -> THB. Their rates are all very reasonable for this, BKK Bank especially.

Are you guys worried at all having money in foreign banks. I am interested in banks in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. How safe is your money, do they have any rules such as banks in the west were your money is protected.

Thaliand or anywhere else, you never know what can happen, any bank can bankrupt. So the best is to keep your money in different banks

Nope. Thai banks have a deposit guarantee of 25 mil baht. I read they want to lower that tho.

You can find horror stories on forums about thai bank employees stealing people's balances, and they never got it back. And hackings / ATM skimming is common here. So don't keep too much in one place.

There are a million stories of money mysteriously disappearing from bank accounts in Thailand. Just have a read of ThaiVisa for a few minutes. You don't have the protection of the law here like you do in the West. There may be a government guarantee if a bank were to fail but i wouldn't rely on it and of course it wouldn't be helpful in a situation where your loss was as a result of fraud . I personally keep the minimum here and enjoy the government guarantees and enhanced security offered in places like Jersey and the Isle of Man.

if someone here played other games why would they want to invite another pro to the game when you would take up a seat that could otherwise be filled by a non-pro? seems pretty stupid to me
