Good to know about the Ed visa the news article was from Pattaya about 18months ago and even mentioned shutting down language schools who had a repeated fail rate for students from the schools. Good to know it is not being enforced just another crack down announced that never happens.

K-bank denied me , i was quite surprised because i read that a lot of people had success with K-bank. KTB bank was the 2nd bank i went to and it worked. I will look into a web shopping card, good looks.

btw i do have a KTB shop smart card which it says is a debit card

You will always find a way to explain yourself but from personal experience when you live here and speak thai it makes it so much easier.
Especially when they are talking and don't know you understand them ;-)

how long is the bus ride to laos? do you guys stay there over night or just head right back? assuming its a lot shorter ride from chiang mei than bangkok/pattaya

also if you would get depressed in a small apt like the one elbow showed just add some more tables to your grinding so you dont have time to think of how depressed u are

you guys know anything about chiang rai?

Yeah i was hearing about this too. I know a few people on this kind of ED visa and noone has had any hassles. But yeah head to believe the thai government would go out their way to boot out farrang.

im from germany, im living in thailand since about 1 year, and actually at the moment all farang friends i had are gone, i have only thai friends, but now i could need a new farang friend for some crazy action. so im looking for somebody new!
im looking for somebody who is living in central bkk, you should be around my age (25) should like thai girls and should not be shy

would be useful if you can speak thai, because most girls i have dont speak english, but its not really necessary

cliffs for the next action:
i have a girl who wants to have sex with me (33, did never have sex with farang, want to try)
i live little bit outside of bkk, she lives a little bit far away from me
we meet at your room, i dont tell her that its your room
when she is at your room i try to talk her into a threesome

if somebody is interested add me on skype: elbarto132

If anyone is interested in teaching and would like to live in issan i heard they were looking for 9 english teachers in the schools in Mukdahan. Muk is right on the lao border.
Pretty sure you don't need teaching qualifications if you are from any native english speaking country.

If any1 is interested let me know and i can make inquiries. School has started already but i doubt very much they were filled. There must have been some kind of pressure to get farrang english teachers in the schools in the mukdahan area because i was approached by the school at my village and the next village to teach there. I don't have any teaching qualifications either.

The most expensive condos i found in Muk were someting like 6k per month and it's so cheap to live but obv it's nothing like bangkok or anywhere esle touristy so most people wouldn't like it unless you have friends or gf or can speak fluent thai

im sure both of these have been asked and answered a hundred times in here but can anyone point me to some good informative posts on what banks are best, easiest to get, and how the whole depositing to poker sites works over there?

also are some sites blocked in thailand?

chiang rai just over 2 hours drive from chiang mai. then another couple of hours to myanmar border

mukdahan on the lao border is 10 hours from mochit bus station(depending on your bus driver)

Pay the extra cpl of hundred baht for the vip bus. And don't sit downstairs unless u like cockroaches and other nice bugs crawling over you and your stuff lol

You can either stay in mukdahan and go to immigration and stamp ur passport or get the bus to lao savanvegas casino in savannakhet. You have to book the vip bus at the casino tent at immigration.

If any1 is planning on doin this after hit me up and i can drive to the casino in lao. It's only 5 minutes from the border but i have to pay 1500 baht to immigration.

Problem with the casino is they dont have poker.

If any1 is wanting to know more about the teaching thing or getting to savanvegas add me on skype. matthew.griffiths

gambling is officially illegal in thailand. That includes online so you cant deposit or cashout via any bank. If you want to use moneybookers make an account from your own country(if thats allowed)

I have a kasikorn and bank of bangkok account. Bank of bangkok to the best exchange rate if sending from UK out of the major banks i looked at.

kasikorn were the original farrang friendly bank but now most of teh banks seem more than happy to give you an account.

If you are wanting bht for stars dollars there are people that do it for w/e % vig. But you would be best having another country account that you can transfer money too from stars if possible.

im guessing i cant use moneybookers from the US

can an HSBC account be used to fund a stars account? or moneybookers if the account was set up in the US?

so basically my only option is to send money to some random dude i dont know and hope he puts the money in my stars account? and then how does a cash out work i come on here and ask does anyone need stars money and wait for someone to say yes and meet up with them to give me some baht?

scary

lol out of everything your gonna face, getting stars money for baht will rank up there as one of the very least scary things on the agenda.

no lol, u can do both on your own. get kbank account from sukhumvit soi 15 branch where they allow foreigners to open one, last time a 2+2er tried. take your passport, 1k baht to put into the account, and ask for the debit card. they'll tell you how to set it up for online use, or you can find it on their website. basically you go to an ATM and put in your phone number, day later you're texted a code to active online banking. then put more money in. then use entropay.com to move money from thai bank into virtual visa wallet. send in ID docs to entropay. deposit onto a poker site. it's a 4.95% fee so just use it once. partypoker refunds the fee so you could deposit onto there and swap for funds on another site using the 2+2 transfer thread at lower vig. then when you cashout, don't use entropay, use simple bank wires. it arrives to your thai bank in 2 working days, no flag is raised, it's safe.

alternatively use moneybookers or netteller but not one with a thai address.

sooooo im kinda tilty from a bad june of poker (which obv sucks since its supposed to be the best month of the year)

and now i have to make like the biggest decision of my life, and just keep going back and forth

thailand

pros = nicer, cleaner, safer, small money gets nicer place in safer area, $250 a month furnished apartments look nicer than what i currently live in, better food

cons = no english, immigration sucks (once every 6 months you have to spend a full day on a bus to go to another country and back), gambling is illegal so could be poster boy for "dont come here to play online poker" and get a long jail sentence, no live poker, since poker is illegal you cant deposit onto poker sites through banks you have to trust random 2+2 posters by fronting them money to transfer to your account, have no smokeable green stuff hookups

philippines

pros = english is much more widely spoken, immigration is much easier just have to leave the country once every year and a half, live poker, gambling not illegal, have several smokeable green stuff hook ups already in place

cons = dirty, more dangerous, cheap apts dont look nice at all and probably are in rough areas

logical choice seems to be thailand because of the safer/nicer/cleaner aspect and the nicer apartments for the money

but i seriously hate travel and a full days bus ride every 6 months sounds terrible, and i know my life and could easily be the kid locked up in a thailand jail for going over there to play online poker, also no english is quite a scary proposition

my heart wants the philippines, i can handle living in an apt thats not nice, i already do, but what im not sure i can handle is the area that apartment would be in

as much as im hating live poker right now id still like it to be an option, and already having green stuff hook ups in place takes away one of my bigger risks

so ummm ya, hmmmm
