I would use KEB and you don't need a translator for them. The other banks you might but not in larger cities. Most places have one person with pretty good English. Also, Skrill and keb work well together. Cheers.

I moved off Jeju last March for Hagwon job but they laid me off due to low student numbers in Nov. Looking for a place to grind and live for the next year.

I've been in Korea since 07. I have dog and 2 cats so relocating is tough esp to another country. Plus if poker doesn't work out, I can go back to teaching. (Knock on would. :P) Cheers.

I wonder how they cash out here since gambling is illegal for Korean citizens.
Idk about you guys but I can't get cash from netteller card here but I can cash out with skrill. Takes forever to go to bank though.

it's usually 3-5 business days for me. I think that's standard for most countries

About 3 days or less with KEB but fees for skrill are a bit high imo.

yeah I'm pretty confused about how legislation works over there. You saw that Slayer Boxer is going to be a poker pro?

I'm not a huge starcraft person but yeah I wouldn't say anything if I was Korean citizen. Lots of live gambling rings have gotten busted up.

lol you realize stars has had numerous korean players on team online/sponsored pros right?

they also did a series of promotional tourneys exclusive for players registered in SK.

it's as illegal as every anma on every street corner

if a korean citizen tries to deposit directly using a visa card or w/e they might get in trouble (i know someone who got denied then had to pay a 500$ fine trying to deposit on stars years ago)

but the korean sites and non-korean sites' affiliates have all found loopholes to protect themselves from government

the undergrounds that get busted are the ones not paying off the right cops usually

Yeah but after Black friday I think a lot of gypos came back to Korea to live and work. I can't speak for Seoul but on Jeju many people are against gambling even though many men enjoy it. I've seen low stakes games at festivals and all that stuff.
I heard it's because some men would lose their life savings in a night on Soju bender.

like summer 2011 or 2012? i forget exactly when the tournaments were but they got a decent turnout even for the 215.

http://www.pokerportal.asia/players-...pokerstars-pro - there is her too...i'm just gonna assume she's still teamonline but dunno if she's still a pro. i remember having her at my tables a bunch of times and thinking she was really bad. can't remember anyone other sponsored players' SNs.

my location on stars is still SK (i had mad issues trying to get it switched to thailand) and i know a few other people registered there. also there was some terrible nl50 dude who would 20 table and had played like a billion hands according to PTR. i forget his SN but i'm sure he's still at that limit if you check those tables.

one time in a $30 6m turbo SnG i even saw someone with location "north korea"...no lie. he was a losing player of a decent amount when i OPRed/sharkscoped him. he said in the chat he lived in macau and was playing on stars while there.
