I've heard the job market has really dried up for foreign teachers... which is counter to what I thought would happen with the new E2 visa keeping a ton of prospects out.

Yeah apparently it's really difficult to get a job in Seoul now. But if you're willing to work in other Korean cities it's not as bad.

A tiny bump: I'm living in Seoul (Gangnam), and down to meet up for grinding and/or drinks. PM if you're around.

Used to work in the music biz, decided to bail out and come to Korea for a variety of reasons.

I enjoy mid-high stakes MTT's w/ some deep cash games, occasionally.

Heard of people using them, but I'd be very careful as south korea is very strict on any type of illegal drug use

Hash is available... had an ex that had some out of the blue and I was honestly shocked to see it. Just find someone you know you can trust (if you can) and do it on the extreme hush hush.

So a few quick questions.

1. how far is the seoul airport from the big city? is there a metro system too and from?
2. If im going to be in seoul for a few hours whats the best place that i have to eat at (i prefer whole in the wall type joints)
3.I speak zero Korean, is it easy enough to get around with Mandarin and English?

1. 1.5 hrs
2. Go to Gangnam or Hongdae.
3. English is fine.

Kinda grunching here. I wanna live in Seoul this summer for a few months. Are short term rentals possible in Seoul? And what area do I want to live in if I want to live in for the best nightlife, restaurants, etc.

Short rentals are tough to find, but possible if you look around. Probably have to check online or get here (rent a hotel) and find a Hasook Jip or the like.

Two best places to live: Gangnam and Hong-dae. I guess Itaewon is good for foreigners but it's grimy/sketchy/not really where Koreans go. I sometimes go there for after-night parties and actually had a great time with my friend and two models from Brazil and Uzbek. But it's not a place that you want to spend too much time at.

Gangnam - Basically like Mid-Town manhattan with tons of restaurants, clubs, night clubs, etc. It's crazy and there are sooo many hot korean women. Expensive but I'm sure you don't care too much about that.

Hongdae - More of a college district but equally as fun as Gangnam and not as pricy. Lots of women's colleges and uni's around there. I was just there last night and it was pretty solid even at 3 am.

Apguchang, Myundgong, and Yongsan are more quiet places with decent amount of restaurants/stuff to do (and relatively close to Gangnam/Hongdae). Might be cheaper to live there, but the two places that I mentioned are the absolute nuts.
