So is online poker legal for foreigners but illegal for locals, or is it just like thailand where it is illegal all around but not enforced?

i assume it's illegal all around since networks go out of their way to block it.

I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND STRONGVPN. I think their service sucks balls. DC's too often

I was able to play on multiple pokersites hu just fine. Korea's net ftw. VPN does slow it down some.

I don't know anyone studying there and dude, you're gonna have a great time in Korea if you learn some of the language. I feel like Europeans fit in better there, dunno why :P

When are you going?
Thanks, I'm sure I would like it and have heard it's a good school.

I am going in February 2011

@koreanbrad.

great post. say someone is coming for a week or two visit. how do u find out what level a night club, karaoke or room salon is on? i mean in the post there seem to be different levels of activities. can u just walk into the different room salons and ask what is offered and check it out before going in? same question with the karaoke places. or is the only way to somehow find a korean guy to take u into these places, and tell u exactly what can be done and what level or classification the place is on...

hey KB

so i'm in macau and i've started to catch the live poker bug. problem about korea is the rake, anything I can do about that? Like to get a prop deal or whatnot? I love me my heads up pokers

Also when I was @ the 7luck casino, not the one in gangnam but on the north side of the river, since there was a waiting line I asked the host if I could play someone heads up while waiting. He got all huffy and offended like I was wasting his time, what's the big deal w/this ego? Do poker room managers really pride themselves on running a poker room? Fwiw that wasn't even a room, there were like 6 tables max and only 3 going...what a prick

was his name danny? or jimmy? if it was i'll laugh.

i think you can get prop deals in korea, but the problem is they'll force you to sit out when the game gets full which is bad (not 100% sure on this but it's what i've seen)

dunno about the heads up thing, if two players are willing to play and pay rake it would be going against his job description to deny you guys

i dunno

he was on the chubbier side, not fat but chubby, i think he had short spiky hair. perfect american accent.

That's unfortunate about the prop deal. If you can give me a good deal, I'll start tables whenever I play

damn, those are fighting words!

Well w/no craps, I've got barely any incentive to play @ the casinos then.

Would it be possible to set up a 5k+ heads up game w/a severely reduced rake? How big do the poker games get? And please don't give me that haughty laugh that the other douchebag gave me. Playing online for me is > than playing live unless the live games are big enough, and with the casinos taking a $15 rake, i mean...that just argues less incentive to play

oh fwiw, i'm never going back to that 7luck casino again. As long as that guy is there, I'd rather pay the cab extra to take my friends and I to walker hill. No way in hell he or his casino gets a cent from me if he's going to get butthurt about someone wanting to play his precious fanclub heads up while waiting for a table
