What's up guys. I have been living in Korea for a few years now. Does anyone know the date that the new casino will be opening in Incheon? I know it's scheduled to open in March, but not sure of the date. I'm curious to see what the rake will be as well.

I went to Hyatt on Saturday and Paradise Resort is right next door, it looks pretty much finished. Should be pretty soon, but I don't know if the casino part will open now?

I went to a work dinner thing (I work at ICN) yesterday evening, a guy there said there is a rumour about the lack of Chinese tourism is having the developers on hold at the moment. Something to do with that THAAD boycott thing. I have no idea if this is the case tho.

Hello there,

I'm visiting a friend in Shanghai second half of May (next month)

Got more than 15 days off, and don't want to spend the whole time there and I want to go to South Korea

I'll probably have around 10 days max there to spend.

To begin with, I'm french, 27 years old, can speak english but have no clue about korean culture / language and will be there alone.

Here are my various questions :
- should I focus on Seoul only or would you recommend visiting other cities ?
- in which part of Seoul do you think I should stay ? I'm pretty sure I'll rent something with AirBnb, and thinking of maybe something with roomates so that I can do stuff with other people (maybe with locals) and not going out every time by myself. Do you think that's doable ? What do you recommend ?
I obviously would like to discover the nightlife too

What are the things :
- to be aware of ?
- must do
- to avoid
- etc

in your opinion ?

Do you think I'll have a hard time going alone over there?

What would be your play / itinerary if you were me ?

All other advices are welcome.

Of course, I'd be happy to meet up with regular!

Thanks a lot in advance, cheers.

Flights booked : I'll be in Seoul from the 19th of May and leaving on the 29th
My main focus now is where to stay in Seoul / should I visit other cities.
I've read that there may be some hostels, could be a good option to meet people.
What do you guys think is the best option regarding my situation ?

Thx in advance guys

Watched a bit of Doug Polk's stream this morning. Had a bit of a laugh at the guy sitting to his left.

They've started advertising and the posters says opening day April 20th. I also see a few shuttle buses driving around the airport area already.

Here's my review (only spent a few hours):

+:
Very nice and well planned casino. As you'd expect from a newly built place, the decor is super nice. The property is not too big, so getting from the parking garage to the casino is easy. (Valet is free until May 1st)
Staff seems nice and friendly. I'm guessing it is people from WH maybe? I haven't been to WH in a good while, so not sure.
There is one dining option next to the poker area with a very decent wonton noodle soup.
They run a 1/1 game, or try to, which I think can bring more players in.

-:
No chargers at the tables
No service from cocktail waitresses (self serve stations)

There are a few very minor things I don't want to include since they are only two days in.

On the opening day they had two tables going, 1/3 and 2/5. Today I waited forever for players to show up and we got underway 3 handed eventually. At the most we played 5 handed of 1/3.

100bbs max buy in, 10% rake (15 max) for 1/3. Will def visit again since I live in the area. Games needs more Mongolians tho.

Keep us posted as to how these games develop, ok?? By "self serve stations" I assume that is just soft drinks, or can you actually mix yourself cocktails? How about food...any kind of freebies?

I was reading through some youtube comment streams the other day and someone was talking about some kind of "poker cafes" in Seoul where there are regular low limit games (1/1 or 1/2 I think they said...minimum buyin like 100k). This comment was posted recently like in the last month or two...I tried to get some more info but no reply yet...anyone know much about these games?

Small water bottles, softdrinks and coffee.

I had a soup in the café in there, it was free (along with 2 latte's).

So booze and substantial food dishes are not options? Or would you have to pay? Poker players need their nourishment!

Anyone in Busan? I'm trying to find out the latest info about nightlife in Seomyeon, Kyungsung, etc. areas...particularly interested in lounges or high-end cocktail bars (not Korean-style places or 150db dance/hip-hop places, please---ughhh!!)

Is Fix still pretty happening?

Any help would be appreciated. :-)
