Sweet, thanks winadil. I used that info to find a reddit thread with directions to Nexon. It looks like there is some kind of tournament going on while I am there, including a semifinal match on 01 September and a finals match on 02 September per this event calendar. Not sure if this will be at Nexon or not, still trying to figure that out.

Looks like GSL (a league, I assume) are held at Afreeca studio in Gangnam per this reddit post, and that SPOTV/SSL/Proleague are held at Nexon per this one.

Looks like the calendar is showing SSL tournaments, so Nexon appears to be the place. Guess I know where I'm headed at 16:00 on the 1st!

In two micros today. $4.40 $3K GTD only had 543 players ($828 overlay), $5.50 $3K GTD only had 509 players ($455 overlay). I'm not sure why, maybe they just haven't caught on yet. Also, just as important is the challenges, if you cash in a Bubble rush Trny, you get a ticket to a $7500 freeroll which is great value $7.50- $10, and lots of players just "sit out".

They are 3 minute hypers til the bubble, then its 11 minute blinds. I like them, so far I'm 2 out of 3 in min cashing, earming 2 freeroll tickets. The one I lost I went for the win stupidly, when I could of just folded my way to at least a min cash for the freeroll ticket.
I thought this just a myth..and thinking they will flood the bots to make it enough people,so no overlay..

But,i just see myself the $7.50 NLHE 3k Gtd have $420 overlay..that's good EV tourney 👍👍

Made it in OK, just checked into my hotel near Insadong. Happy to meet up with any of you locals for some kimchi or whatever while I'm here. Not Thursday though unless you want to rock some Starcraft spectating.

Another North Korea nuke test? I didn't feel any earthquakes...

On another note, I might be going to the Walker Hill casino on Saturday. I'm volunteering for the Air Force Ball so I thought why not stop by the casino prior to going to the Sheraton Hotel event.

So I went to Walker Hill... just want to say sorry to whoever was at my table. I'm SO BAD haha! Was my first time playing in a casino (I'm an online poker nerd). I kept trying to raise to 3,000 thinking I was playing 500/1000W NL or something when the minimum was 4,000. I kept trying to raise not realizing that someone had straddled beforehand. It was hard as **** for me to hear the dealer though and it seems like those ninja straddles keep coming out of nowhere.

I also hid my cards on accident. It wasn't a poker angle just a bad rookie mistake. I had KJ of clubs and the flop was Kx8cc and I tried to bet IP in a big family pot, but I couldn't bet because my cards were hidden and dealer didn't even realize I was in the pot. I took it down on the turn paired 8, but I can definitely see people thinking I'm trying to angle them with hidden cards.

Online and live is so much friggin different. I've only played live one other time for play money at some coworkers house where the dude hosting the event thought straights beat flushes *facepalm*

My bet sizing live was random as ****. I think it was the nerves, because sometimes my hand was shaking whether I had air or strong hands. I didn't think my hands through, I just threw out some chips regardless of what the pot contained.

Amazingly I managed to walk out losing only 5,000 won. (That's after getting raked to hell and back and all the tips for won pots)

Overall: I had a blast at the casino. It was definitely a fun time. The highlight was when we thought the dealer said "Are you fish?" when some dude busted out with a horrible call. She was like "Oh I'm sorry, I said are you finished?" Was hilarious!

I could never hear the dealers. I'd have them repeat what they say like 2 or 3 times. If I go back to $1-2 I'd probably buy in for 500 big blinds lol. I saw too many people stacking off with top pair and sometimes not even top kicker.

It was frustrating fighting for small pots when others were getting paid by calling stations. Oh well better luck next time.

I had one guy check a set in position on a dry river... was mind boggling.

i dont see any mention of F-4 statuses changing in that article... Also states that the law is targetting those who change their nationality primarily for dodging the mandatory service.

Just looked at WH's poker website and see the BBJ is over 83million kw!

Thats the highest I've ever seen there!
http://www.paradisepokers.com/

I don't know why they don't update their FB page anymore. They should publicize their trnys there like they used to. Someone would probably volunteer to update it for free anyway, so I find it odd that its not updated anymore.

8 Oct Triple Up Trny (110k)
15 Oct Bounty Trny (165k)
22 Oct Monster Stack (165k)
29 Oct 10K GTD (220k)

Nice!

Oh, please let it hit at my table on Saturday! If friends are playing on different tables at the same time, we should all do a deal for a small % between friends if one of us hits for something in the BBJ. Increase our chances of winning something.

Hmmm. According to the WH website the table was all Chinese except for one Canadian. Wouldn't be surprised if they openly discussed their hands to make sure nobody folded the bad beat!

Hey guys, I am visiting Seoul right now from Vegas. I've been playing 2-5 in Vegas for a living for a little over 3 years right now. I read online that Walker Hill offers 1-2 and 2-5 sometimes but that the rake is capped at 16 (15+1)? Is that game even beatable? Seems crazy to me to be able to beat a low stakes game with a rake so high, but maybe the games are just that good?

I'm considering moving here long term and just wanted to get some people's insights on the live games in Seoul. Thanks in advance for any help...
