Can anyone help me figure out cost of living in New Zealand?

What would real estate sell for? Property tax? Grocery item prices? Anything will help - all I have is 1 USD = 1.20 NZD

Real estate obviously depends.. Random rural areas way cheaper than Auckland cbd etc.
Tax idk

Groceries kinda cheapish.. Big Mac is like 3.5 usd by itself or 6.5 for a meal..
Std 2l milk is around 3usd..
Etc

Ex rate blows ATM tho so if you usually use usd it's kinda brutal as it used to be 1.3 by that long ago and in the past way better

realestate.co.nz contains most properties for sale.

numbeo.com is quite useful for cost of living numbers (at least for big cities).

Beyond that why don't you give the readers some sort of clue about who you are or why you want to live in NZ. The advice I'd give a 21 year old whose interests are weed and bitches is totally different from the advice I'd give a 40 year old with two kids who loves sailing.

I'm going to new zealand on Friday. Any info on the games (regularity, stakes, rake) around Auckland would be much appreciated.

I was in Auckland in May and can shed a little light on Skycity, which I'm pretty sure is the only legal regulated game in the city. Poker room doesn't open til 5pm weekdays, noon weekends and closes at 2am iirc. When I was there there were two tables of 1-3 or 2-3 and a 2/5 or 5/5 (sorry cant remember exact stakes) game that looked pretty deep. I played the 2-3 and it was real juicy. Rake is high, tipping is not allowed, and dealers are good. It's a really nice poker room with a pretty sweet lounge feel to it, and it has a really cool outdoor smoking patio that kind of hangs off the side of the building.

Just did a quick google search and it looks like you're lucky enough to show up right at the start of a tournament series.

Good luck!
