Our food is awesome, check out all the other posts about it. Type in 'singapore street tv' in youtube and you'll see my vids about food here.

The girls are pretty if you like asian girls but are not easy. We're a conservative nation so the girls dress slutty but they are not the type which go for one night stands. Going out with them overnight etc doesn't count. If you want easy sex, look elsewhere.

No chick will look at you and smile at you if you don't do anything.

If your main goal is having as many women as you can, I think Singapore is probably the worst place in Asia for it. The girls there seem to be the most exposed to Westerners, which hurts your novelty value, and overall very serious. I guess that is not surprising since the standard of living/education levels are so high there. Singapore is awesome but super expensive.

Echo what the above posters said. Singaporean-Chinese girls while all loading up daddy's credit card on clothes and expensive hair to look great are not mega sloots. You can get girls just like anywhere, but it's not like shooting fish in a barrel the way some of the Thailand boys make it out to be over there. As said, it's really Asia-lite in a way.

My own pet theory on why they have red light districts and Orchard Towers even though the Gov't are nits about stupid **** like chewing gum is that they don't want westerners to defile their own so they bring in girls from all the poor surrounding countries as maids/service workers/whores

I don't think that is the reason. The local men are far more likely to participate in those zones than a Westerner. I think it is allowed because it is logical. Prostitution is tolerated everywhere that I know of in Asia.

Zoo. Far east plaza, orchard road. Seoul garden.

Are you a foodie? Visiting with your GF/wife/mates?

If you like, feel free to PM and I wouldn't mind showing you around. I'm a magician so I've got lots of on and off periods.

The casinos in Singapore will not spread poker. This really sucks but it's good for the local players anyway as we'd have to pay a $100 entry fee just to enter the damn place.

The only poker that's spread in the casino is something called 'Singapore Stud Poker'. I'm guessing it's something you play against the house so it's stupid. Don't bother.

Yep ongame works however I don't play there so I can't give you full info on it. I know local players who play at redkings though.

Orchard Towers is ****ing ridiculous, what a money pit. I think I'm banning myself from drinking in 'Pore and just limiting it to when I go to Bangkok or Bali for a weekend.

..... ban will prolly last till the long weekend.

Someone mentioned that in 2009 they got cheap F1 tickets from ppl selling off their corporate tickets? Anyone got a link for a local message board or craigslist type site where I can find this?

I wouldn't mind going to the race but sure as **** not for the rates posted on the official site.

no there is no live poker game at the casinos, I guess they (still) have problems with the legality of offering poker in the casino

there are quite a lot of homegames though

Love Singapore! Got relatives so been there plenty of times, have to go back again soon

Anyways, had a look at the Marina Bay Resort homepage today and was disappointed when I realized there was no poker being offered there except from the table games. Indeed got it confirmed here in the thread. Is this something being worked on? What do you local guys think, will it be offered in the casino within a year or two?

And what about the homegames? They are technically illegal I suppose.. is it "professionally" run clubs? Do the police know and do they care? The caning always used to scare me, hehe..

From what I know poker will NEVER be offered. They did initially build a poker room but decided to spread 'singapore sling' poker or some stupid version of poker which you play against the house, aka -EV poker.

Do not, and I repeat.. DO NOT play in homegames in Singapore unless you have plenty of local connections etc. In Singapore its legal to play poker for cash if the people you are playing with are your friends. However if you're a foreigner who is just visiting for a month, it will be difficult to prove the guys you are playing poker with are your friends.

Basically just don't do it. We're known for strict laws over here.

BTW just to let the people in the thread know, I showed Hundkatzemaus around (he posted above somewhere) and we both had a great time. Another one of his friends visited Singapore as well and I showed him the sights. Singapore is great if you know people.

Wait, so that's it--no live poker? I'm gonna be there or 2 weeks starting Mon., Nov. 1....Home games? Private clubs? Back room of a pool hall? Nothin'? I have been in Hong Kong for 2 weeks, and was shut out there (yes, I know about Macau) because 2 great private clubs that I used to go to were closed by police. I'm jonesin'...can anyone find me a game in Singapore?
