Ask me about living in Malaysia!

Am a regular live cash game player playing 2000NL as well as grinding the Asian tourney circuits from Malaysia.

Ask me about relocation!

Just trying to build up the poker community in Kuala Lumpur.

Cheers

A decent 2-3 bedroom apartment in the vicinity of the city can costs anywhere between $400 to $2000; depending on the location, the amenities, the interior furnishing of the place.

Internet connection is stable with speeds up to 30Mbps, with costs of 20Mbps about $80 a month. Women are the fairest here amongst all the South East Asia countries :P Alcohol is readily available, but we have on of the highest prices in the world due to sin tax. You can get 3 pints of Guiness, Kilkenny, foreign draft beer for $16 so its about $5 per pint.

Drugs is not so common, if you get caught dealing, you're off to hell. But knowing the right people will get you stuff.

I am actually from Borneo, the state of Sarawak. Eco tourism is a big industry here in Sarawak and Sabah with plenty of outdoor activities. Some places you visit will be like going back to 50 years in time hehe

I think that answers all? Fire away if you have more q

Yes I have, twice. Its smallish compared to what you get in the outdoor parks like Genting Highlands Resort or Sunway Lagoon, but its in a shopping mall and in town so.

There is no nlhe at the casino here, I live in KL and play a lot in the private home games. Theres a game guaranteed every night, with limits of $1/2 up to $10/20. PLO games can run from $1.5/1.5 to 3/3. Mixed nlhe/plo is also a common routine.

I am from here!

Yeah I have been many times. Its one of the more famous cities in Malaysia due to its cultural background and heritage.

You get all the perks of being in a small city, but that also mean lesser nightlife and activities?

This would be like comparing Birmingham to London or Christchurch to Auckland.

I've been to Penang about a million times, its a very unique place imo and i like it alot, but as for living there full time, I really dont think i could do it, its great for 4-5 days perhaps. It is also the friendliest place on earth.

Re: Ask me about living in Malaysia!

I really like low stress, small cities/towns. I can't handle the bigger places for much longer than a week. I really like HK for example, but my hair would go grey if I lived there longer than a week.

Why don't you think you'd like to live there? Just not enough to do?

Re: Ask me about living in Malaysia!

From what you have just said you'll prolly love it!

It really is chilled out, relaxed and as i say friendly. I love most everything about it great Indian food everywhere, nice mix of people all speak perfect English (pretty much). I honestly think you can make/find genuine friends there than in Thailand for example. As is with everywhere you never know till you go but from what you say im sure you'll enjoy it very much.

Re: Ask me about living in Malaysia!

A few Penang pics;

Looking down on the main nightlife bit of George Town by day, think there are about 4-5 night clubs, that all have a cover charge plus quite a few bars/come restaurants. Wednesday nights is ladies night in all the clubs, in for free cheap drinks that type of stuff, and my god are those chinese/malay chicks HOT, best looking girls ever imo anyway Wednesdays is rammed with hot chicks.

A few random street views;

Soho Pub, worth a look, does ok English typpe pub fair if you fancy pie and chips, close to the bar/club strip

I am sure there are better indians about but this one is nice, cheap and they dont skimp on the portions either again basically next to the night life;
