Thinking of going to PI at the end of June and I've been messing around on a dating site the last couple of days. It's my perception that the girls in Manila speak better english than the ones in Cebu or other places.

Can anyone confirm this or is it just a small sample size?

Pooter- Your thinking over Rouges its at the far end of Burgos and I think the barfine is around the 1500 mark.

Hotel wise I stay at Howzat which is a one minute walk away. They have all you can drink for p300 from 5-8pm I think.

Burgos is overpriced if you go at night however most of the bars are open from around 2pm. From about 2pm till 6pm most of the bars have happy hours where Ladies drinks are dirt cheap like 120 pisos.

If your looking for girls to piss on your probably going to want to head to La Cafe (Now Manila bay cafe). Its freelancer heaven

I land in Manila on Monday, and will be going to several different schools, trying to apply to be a student for classes starting June 13th. On my list are De la Salle, Ateneo, UP @ los banos, University of Cebu, Adamson, and Far Eastern University.

I'll be getting a sim card upon arrival. PM me if you want.

what dating site, is it filipino cupid? i did the same thing before i came and i think in general, its not so much where they're from and more related to their level of education, whether they've been through high school / college. they only speak english at college there. manila has a lot of university's so its more likely to find better english speakers in the big cities.

Hey guys, going to Manila next week with the gf. Any "must do's" or couples things I shouldn't miss? Staying in Makati if that helps. Thanks.

It's the 1st site I found. They let you get on for free, but not actually contact anybody that's not a paid member...of course anyone in the Phil is has not paid. I signed up, if anyone else does be careful...I only meant to sign up for a month but accidently signed up for the "premium" membership 3 months.(I guess that's what it defaults to and you have to change it if you want regular membership for only a month.)

Whenever I log in I get bombarded with women wanting to chat...I just wonder how many of the 9 & 10's are there real pics.

Thanks, for the perspective, you're probably right that just more girls in Manila are educated.

Personally I haven't found any fake profiles yet on FH/FC, including the good looking ones. The main problem however is like on all dating sites that the picture is from their prime age before they gained weight or got bad skin, ask for webcam, most girls in PH have a cam.

DIA is free, more profiles but requires a bit more work with selection.

I'm arriving at midnight in Manila, can anyone tell me how to:

A: find a cheap hotel
B: how to get to this hotel
C: if i get to this hotel by taxi, how to not get scammed by said taxi

i just searched some random website and found these results for cheap hotels near the airport.

I am a travelfish. Can someone fill me in on how to deal with the change from 120 Voltage to 230 Voltage? I am bringing a laptop, a desktop pc (power supply has settings for 120V and 230V) and 2 Dell 2001FP monitors. AFAIK, all of these are rated for both voltages, so do I just need to buy special cords or what?

USA is 110v, Philippines is 220v. If your equipment is multi-voltage then you're good to go. Great thing for Americans is that 2-prong and 3-prong outlets are standard here, so you likely won't have to buy any adapter at all.

You find the yellow taxi line and go by meter. Yes, the white taxis are cheaper but I personally prefer to add P50-100 ($1-2) for extra safety when traveling with all my belongings.
Ask a guard (general advice for PI btw) for direction to find the yellow cab line.
There will be guys asking you where you are going, especially if you look lost, they will try to sell you a ride for 3-4 times the price so just ignore them and head for the yellow taxi line.

Yellow taxis are very legit and less likely to screw you but just in case, make sure he turns on the meter and your ride should be P70 + P4 for each 300m (white taxis are P40 + P3.50/300m), to Makati etc that should be P250-P400 depending on location.
Tip him P10-20 if you're happy with the ride. Make sure to have change, you can get change at the BDO (a bank) counter which is right after the customs. Split a P1000 into 100s and a few 50s and 20s.

I arrived in Manila at 2AM in the same kind of situation, I had a prebooked hotel however before I left Australia I forgot to get the address, tried a few times unsucessfully. Too tired I needed to find a place for the night, so I talked to a SG at the airport who pointed me in the direction of a woman who 'organizes'. I said my limit was 2000p, we jumped into a mini van and 5 mins later arrived, more like a backpackers/hostel type set up, but was very clean and quiet so I was happy with it. Price usually would be around 1000-1500p I would guess, so if you want to risk it say your max is 1000p. Next day they helped me get my phone working and gave me a ride to the internet cafe before I left.

Well that's encouraging...since I've talked to a few 9-10's.(at least from pics) Good idea about the webcam.

Ive been reading this thread for a few weeks. Convinced and moving to Manila for at least a month.

Flight booked to Manila on July 19th.

Looking for single, male grinder to rent a 2 BR condo with for at least a month. I will be spending my time (in order); grinding live poker, picking up woman, and learning about trading options, gym/tennis. That is all.

Open to suggestions on the area. Thinking south of the market with decent proximity to resort world and the market. Looking in the 25-30k/pesos a month range per person. PM meh or post here

It's a little bit of a hassle since it's not immediately connected to malls, can't see why it's not a good building tho. Cut Serendra prices in half for basically same location and similar standards

Sounds like your phone needs unlocking as Smart Sim Cards are pretty much good to go.

Yep, I've met countless girls from online and not a single one looked as good as their pic.
