Open up your wallet.

Reasons why I love this country #1444 whilst riding my motorbike this morning back home still drunk. I drove past a house and they had a big ass monkey chained up as a pet. Anyone know where I can pick one up?

I'm getting a more permanent place at Rockwell next week and need to sort broadband. For those who have lived or lives at Rockwell area, what works best in terms of speed and stability?
(I already have sun and globe wireless as backups)

I'm just gonna throw this out here now to let it marinate.

I'm thinking about going abroad for another 6-12 months and the Philippines is on my short list. I think I'll probably go with Cebu this time because I have some major issues with Manila. Anyway, just putting it out there. Hope there's more than 1 cardroom there sense I can't beat **** online anymore

Don't ****ing do it. Seriously sky sucks hard, get pldt. If you play a lot you will probably hate this country using sky.

+1, I run an internet cafe here and PLDT for the most part has been rock solid, recently it has been a little wacky but overall I have been very happy with it. I'm running a 3mb connection (just gaming n browsing net n ****) at 3k peso's per month and I think the most important part of a internet connection is stability rather than speed; as long as your above 1mb for personal and maybe 3mb for a shared connection when it comes to gaming (pokering included) and in this area I have to say PLDT has been good.

Thanks, I'll go with PLDT. How long time did it take you from ordering to a working connection?

About a week. I've been told you can get unlucky and it can take longer.

Getting so damn bored here in Cebu... Don't feel like playing poker right now. What to do on monday night? Is there any bars/clubs open?

It's boring cuz your stuck in mactan, get out into the city man or see some of the other parts of cebu, made a few recommendations in the last page. If your game, Mango Square is a pretty central location with a lot of bar's/clubs/restaurants in the immediate area, just ask a taxi driver.

Yeah this poker week turned more into a vacation for me
Been to mango sq, crowns did the skywalk+edgecoaster...pretty degen if u got vertigo, waterfront, various stuff in mandaue. Daytrip to bohol was really cool. Takes 1.5hrs with ferry from Cebu. Went to floating riverboat restaurant that was awesome. Chocolate hills, zipline/cable where ur shot head first across a cliff, some other stuff. Would recommend, especially as a "date".

Not really anything to do in Mactan. Mango is fun at night.
Been unable to find good restaurants here but haven't been trying hard either.
Cool city imo, I'm gonna keep staying in Manila for now though

Time to re-new my visa. Are you using an agency to sort this for you or do you go to the immigration office in person?
If you use an agency, is there any agency you can recommend close to Rockwell please?

Has anyone been to Boracay island? If yes, would you recommend it? I'm looking for a place to stay for about 2-3 weeks with some nice beaches and good nightlife but not too many tourists.

Any other places that fulfill the above characteristics?

Thanks guys

I've been there, it is gorgeous. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been actually. It is pretty touristy though. And 2-3 weeks may be a bit much, I think I'd get bored there after about a week, unless you just want to sit on the beach by day and drink by night the whole time.

I am gonna go ahead and discredit Pearls letting agency after having approved of them earlier. I used them for 4 months and after some investigation, something is definitely up with their monthly bills.
