Hey, is there any place where we can surf in the Philippines? Is Manila mostly well-known for museums and historical sites? I love beaches, so I want to know where to find the best beaches

Siargao island is well know of its surfing but you need to fly there from Manila and most of other cities as well(if there is direct flight or you might have to fly surigao first and then take boat). There is also other spot in Luzon(same island than Manila but far from it) called baler?
Philippines is also full of other nice beaches and islands... though they are usually quite far from big cities.
Thank you so much Killah for all the helpful information. And thank you FWWM.
Then I'll go to find information about Siargao island. It looks like this is a very exciting destination to discover.
P/S: I'm looking at the Wikipedia article about Siargao. And I'm really impressed by its sand and its waves. Moreover, it's wonderfully located near the Philippine Trench. And it's true that the island is very far from Manila.
By the way, I'm still new to this website. So, I want to ask: is there a way to thank you for your post and add reputation to you on this website? I haven't seen any thanks button yet
Hello which poker rooms can play besides PokerStars from Philippines?
Which skins in iPoker can play? Because I think in Titanpoker, bet365 and betfair can't play from Philippines .
Practically every single airbnb unit I stayed in had roaches. Gramercy, Knightsbridge, Viceroy all had them. Some owners act like it's the first time theyve heard the problem!

When you say had roaches, how bad? Like you would see multiple everyday or just once or twice during your stay? It is SEA and roaches are just a thing.
I’m in the Philippines right now and just stayed 4 nights at a really nice studio loft in BGC.... Roaches near the kitchen at night. It wasn’t that bad but it was still not ideal.
My next Airbnb will be at Gramercy for a loft with a 4.9 rating... I hope it will be roach free.

It was basically every time I would open a door or kitchen cupboard. Saw giant roaches in the bathroom and baby roaches in the kitchen running around. The airbnb reviews mentioned no roaches Airbnb helped me move around a few times though after I sent them videos and pictures. The half decent hotels didn't seem to have any.
looking to come back to Phillipines in February for the next visa run. Enjoyed the casinos in Manila esp Resorts World last time.
This time looking to take a break from poker for 2/3 days and enjoy a beach. Are there any beaches nearby that are Not secluded. Looking for beaches like in LA or Miami where things are happening with modern conveniences like nice restaurants, hotels, and shops.
Willing to take a short flight if needed.
A $200/night resort is ok too. I just want to enjoy the beach scenery, sunsets, and contemplate life you know. I dont want to have to worry about finding good food, getting robbed or bothered by homeless ppl.

There are some high end resorts in mactan cebu and Boracay might be ok for you also... In resort you are pretty safe... But if you wander outside of it into the city... it is hard to avoid beggars etc.
I understand what you are asking. Probably the closest thing to what you are looking for is Bali but it's SEA so you're still going to have people trying to sell you stuff, taxi drivers, etc...

Your best option would be to fly from Manila to one of the remote islands, like Siargao, Panglao, Malapascua etc. Many resorts to choose from.

Boracay is your best bet, quite commercial, tons of restos and a super long beach
Thx for all the responses, looks like Boracay is the best option.
Yeh, I was a bit surprised by how run down most of Manila is. I expected it to be similar to Bangkok, but it's way worse. Only saving grace are MOA and the casinos.
Any thoughts on which area is better to stay in if in Manila to play poker, the area near Resorts World or the area near Okada? As of now, I don't know which room I will prefer, maybe finding out which room I like more should be the priority...

Resorts World area is much better i think. Resorts World has more tables open and the area is bustling. Okada is quiet most of the time and there isn't much around the area besides Okada itself.
