Yes RW is open and have put small poker 'room' on first floor near cashier and Victoria Harbour. I think 6 tables. Roped off area next to bac tables. Played this past weekend.

Would anyone recommend a place close to the beach where I can get a private apartment studio or 1 bedroom. For no more than 20 bucks a night for say i rent it for 3 months? ( i guess i could push the price a little but up)
The only other requirement is that I can pull chisk either off tinder or something similar or even in shopping malls.
No borocay

Never mind above, i think tagbilaran, or panglao looks pretty sick

Well im pretty sure there isnt any shopping malls on panglao and your chances with girls would be mostly foreigners visiting. Might have been some sub par working girls along the beach if I remember correctly.

Tagbilaran doesn't seem too aesthetically pleasing but I didn't really check out the coast line so maybe it's nice but I doubt it.

Also if reliable internet is a necessity you might wanna reconsider.

sadly there is beggars(child and older ppl) almost everywhere in Philippines. Sadly the nice beaches are usually not close the city but yea Palawan has some(honda bay, el nido etc.) also you might like to try Davao where Samal island is just short boat ride away and it has many malls.

thx for info Sourbluff might drop there on tuesday night

About $1k USD. The best spot to live imo is Gramercy which if you use https://www.siglosuites.com/ is 50k for one month in a studio ($980), or 55k for one bedroom ($1080).

That's cheaper than Airbnb for one month. Airbnb is good for daily or weekly. $40 a night roughly for gramercy. Monthly they might give a 10% discount but some listings don't, and Airbnb charges a service fee so usually siglo suites is cheaper.

They have some other high end condos on Siglo too but I prefer Gramercy. Good internet cos it's in a PLDT fibr village, best gym, attached to a mall with it's own private entrance, guards don't stop you with a girl (or use the mall entrance in daytime). Walking distance to the red light district of p burgos, royal nightclub, pasha restaurant.

On a 6+ month contract it'd be $600/month.

Still ok but expensive relative to e.g. Bangkok where it'd be about ~30% less. And electricity is also a lot more expensive, highest in Asia, 5th in the world.

Although the infinity pool is closed for 30 days, lol, I'm staying there at the moment. But there's still the lap pool.

If you want cheap, Eastwood City is about $600 on AirBnB and if you rent long term about $300 for a bare studio that you have to furnish yourself.

It's kinda like a low end Bonifacio Global City and walking around doesn't feel like you're in the 3rd world proper. Some buildings are connected to the Eastwood Mall as well. Getting to Makati is kind of a mission though and can easily take an hour due to traffic.

whats your favorite place to live in the Phillppines? I always assumed that it was a weaker economy than Thailand in terms of lower cost of living

Jspill,

is that for paying month by month? I remember it being significantly cheaper when I was looking at yearly leases.

You should be able to rent 1 bdrm in BGC for 40k or less. Prob not Serendra unless is studio but should be able to find in Trion or maybe South of Market. I'm around that in Infinity for over 50sqm

How about Cebu? I'm seeing some really cheap Airbnbs that look decent:

Is it just Manila that's expensive? Or does Cebu suck?

Cebu is ok, a little boring after a while depending on what youre looking for. Not sure where the locations are for the links you posted but you can get a studio near "I.T" Park for like 400-500 bucks.

Also If you were gonna stay @ Gramercy, I'd highly recommend choosing Tivoli Gardens over it. Much cheaper because its 2 minutes over the bridge. Also nicer imo, Gramercy is like an over-rated/over-priced hotel. Awkward bringing girls back there having to sign them in also.

Brand new gym and outdoor basketball court on the 6th floor is clutch too for me.

Tivoli is really nice and probably far better value. Having everything literally outside your door when you're at Gramercy Knightsbridge (what's the third new building btw?) is also very nice though.

super nice from this pic
but even better value for long term goals would be to downscale a bit or a lot and find a way to buy your own place somewhere in the phils (just oustisde manila close to a freeway like Marilao North or Laguna/Paseo South, if manila is important) rather than drain half a million on rents per year in manila...
Many promote Tagaytay better climate with the high end there being
http://tagaytayhighlands.com/
but I found the only real climate difference maker being Baguio

last chance too to protect your fiat this way with a great real asset .
main risk seems military escalation in the region or 'war on isis' in the Phils being formented & escalated
