taxis not scammy in cebu

only real traffic problems are in mandaue on the road that leads out to lapu lapu/airport

but also no real reason to go that way

also the road from SM up to IT park during rush hour can get pretty bad

Walk 50m right as you come out of the airport past the touts and then there's a line of white taxis. They might not know directions so have GPS ready.

Does anybody know if Motels are common around Manila? I'm going to Couchsurf for a few days and would hate to miss on ****ing a girl just because we don't have where to go

so even if you became a crusher which might take 5+ years of experience you couldn't make more than 2k a month? I was playing 24 hour shifts and didn't make that much. COD seemed barely beatable with the nitty players and only hot dogs and coffee

How good you can be at these games is severely capped because most pots are multiway vs donks. Just value bet.

Rake is too high, buy in structures are often not good and there's too many regs trying to make a living playing. I'm sure some go on heaters and make more than 2k a month but that's about all that is reasonably attainable.

Handing out numbers at Ayala is the past time of choice according to this forum.

There's not a ton to do in the city itself and the areas around it are high risk for kidnapping so be careful.

Does anyone know if there is a place in the Philippines that's compareable like Rawai in Phuket? Cant wait to leave Manila in 1 year but rather would like stay in the Phils with my family then moving back to Europe.

I got a offer for a 3 BR fully furnished condo in Taguig at Acacia Estates for 30K a month. Other condos with 2 BR for 25k. Are these reasonable prices?

Are the internet plans for home here always at least 2 years term? Would prefer a 1 year contract. Can anyone reccomend a reliable provider in Taguig?

what is it with every place having the most pointless blinds ever. how do condo owners struggle so much with concept of getting blinds to block sunlight

Me and a friend split a place at Acacia estates for 25k a couple years ago. We actually got it at 21k pm because we paid 6 months in advance. It's a little out of the way from all the action of Manila, but not the worst area actually.

Those prices do seem a little high though.

I'm considering staying in Manila LT.
which are the best condos? (regardless of the price).

around ASEANA city i know of Sea Residences and Solemare? which is best? from an outside pov , solemare seems to have a more human side ... around MOA is there some better option to consider?

In makati which are the best? I heard a lot about Grammercy, but in a game at RWM spoke with a brit who lives there and told me he had cockroaches in his bath room (he lives in a low floor ...) that's an absolute turn off for me.

what about BGC? which are the best condos there?

On moa:

Given the 3 recent ones this week I wouldn't want to stay there.

Seeing the drawn guns outside of the shopping center there didn't help either.

I also think resort world is the best option for any live grinder (although honestly I wouldn't recommend Philippines for anyone serious about grinding live) so the time saved by living in solemare vs Makati isn't worth the other sacrifices.

If someone was set on living in the moa area I'd suggest choosing shell or sea residences or one of the ones closer to moa.
On gramercy I've heard about the cockroach problem too. But it's not the big cockroaches, just tiny ones. When I was there recently they had pest control spraying the rooms. Maybe it got better or higher floors are ok. BKKYolo just stayed there maybe he can comment.

Knightsbridge is decent right next to Gramercy

Mate staying in the BGC says Two Serendra is the best

If cockroaches are problem... then it is probably best avoid Philippines... But shouldn't be too much problem in high end condos

mate i've gone to the phils 3 or 4x a year for the past 10 years and never seen any! I've always stayed in high end hotels ... but that's not viable for 3 months stays

cockroaches at gramercy really depends on your neighbours really. some units i havent had them, then other units everytime i walked into hallway i could always smell food and this led me to have quite a few.

the last time i stayed they seemed to be doing pest control more than before so. and it was a very regular occurance

and lets be honest, a lot of guys are messy ****s and probably leave food out a lot.

Just be clean and youll be good.

something that really confuses me about gramercy...how can they tell when your door is locked/unlocked? i never lock my door and the fkers always wake me up at 8am to tell me to lock the door. Piss off. its my place and im in it. whos going to rob me when im in there! but the locks are little push button locks and no electronics? so how they tell man? been **** with my mind too much

Philippines banks will also rip you off with exhange rates(espesially if you send euros) but yea you can do it. Bpi has given worst rates i have seen BDO is bit better but still not so good. I have been using transferwise, it gives xe rates... but obv you have to pay bit fees... but it is like 1% loss. In this case you can have like any peso account and do transfer from your finnish bank in euros and they will convert it to pesos and but it in your Philippines bank.
