In AC there is 1 casino, but at least 4 poker rooms beside that one. One negative thing here is that they allow smoking. Stakes are usually 10-20, 25-50 pesos, sometimes higher.
Thanks for the reply, if you could give me the names that would be great.

Anybody know about poker rooms or Casinos in Cebu?

I do not know the name of every cardroom here but some of the ones in Angeles City are:
fifth street(filipino casino), International has a card room(wild aces), Squeeze,

Side note, I think there will be fewer politicians playing before the election this year since they have to build up goodwill before the election, so maybe a little less fishy games..

Is there a legitimate enough live poker scene outside of Manila?

I am thinking about moving to the Philippines and I was just going to move to Manila, but I've heard a lot of people saying, go somewhere else in the country, NOT Manila.

Is there enough action, traffic, good games and such at Casinos in other parts of the country (Cebu, Angels city,) or if I want to be able to play live poker whenever I want should I pretty much be going to Manila.

I would be playing lowish stakes (which live probably means like $1/$2 or something like that,) so if Casinos in other parts of the country have enough traffic at that level and a little higher, that's more then good enough for me.

I guess I should also ask, are there even Casinos outside of Manila and if so how many, (how many in Cebu, How many in Angels city, how many in wherever?)
You should really at least consider manila. A lot of people like it here and it is probably the only place in the country that regularly runs $1/2 + games.

Oh, I am definitely considering it, in fact, initially, it was my only consideration for the Philippines, but then I head a lot of negative opinions of it and so I started to think about maybe going elsewhere in the country.

However one of my primary considerations for wherever I go is the live poker scene, if Manila has the best of all areas in the Philippines, then I will most likely move there.

When I was in Cebu, Waterfront casino seemed to have the most active room....I think they had the equivalent of approx $1/$2 NLHE.

Yeah this is somewhat harsh rake but the player field makes up for it + it's not nearly as harsh as macau used (still is?) to be.

Hi!!

I have reading this thread quietly without posting anything. Haven't been posting at 2+2 at all before now. I will be in Manila from 28th Jan until 17th March. Hooked up with one of the APT models last year and I'm going to meet her once again.

Just wondering if anyone here wanna hook up for some beers or anything else social during this period?

Kai

I were going to move to Manila, but changed my mind.. I need beach and cleaner air, so can anyone recommend a nice beach close to Cebu City and an area with super good internet connection?

Are there any grinders living in Cebu at the moment?

I'm going out to Cebu in a couple of weeks and looking to stay for a month or two, anyone have advice on where to stay. I'm looking for a furnished apartment, with 24 security, and pool. So far the only thing I found was this place http://sdrapartments.com but it's $1k a month and I heard places are cheaper than that in Cebu.

Is there any chance of finding a live game that's $5/10 or higher, nlhe or plo?

For that short of a stay that seems like a good price if the place is decent.
Ofcourse you can find something a little bit cheaper if you are looking around when you get here but I wouldnt bother.
Real estate market in cebu is similar to manila

You wont find a 5/10 USD live game.
around 2/4 USD is the highest running somewhat regularly in cebu

Hey guys. Trying to plan a trip with my gf this summer to Boracay. My main question is in the cheapest way to get from Manila to the resort. What's the going rate for a flight one way each way? I can get RT from LAX to Manila for like 700usd but round trip to the Caticlan airport is a ridiculous 3000usd. Surely I can do better booking with a local carrier once I get there, yeah?

Also, any seemingly nice resorts to avoid? We're a pretty flexible couple, price isn't an issue as long as I perceive there to be decent value in it. Anyone have any linkable TRs? Thanks in advance guys. Cheers.

You'd think so, yes. Should only be $100-200 return to Boracay. But when I went to www.cebupacificair.com it had flights to Boracay 3000 peso return but some message about "temporarily suspending flights to Caticlan due to airport runway restrictions" [w/e the f that means...]

They're still listing flights to Caticlan in April and that...

Only a couple airlines fly into Caticlan. It's small airport, so full sized airplanes can't land there. You'll need to take a propeller plane.

I booked online through SEAIR. It was about $70 each way.

I booked a room at a resort called Frendz for $20/night. Nothing special, but a clean room and it was less than a 5 minute walk to White Beach.

I would try to avoid Seair if I were you, the plane I flew with look like a Jeepney inside and outside. So not very safe imo.

Did you have cable internet in an apartment or do you mean Wifi internet in an hotel?

Did it fall out every day or just once a week? I can always use my smart bro stick if it only falls out once a week..

I need to go there, since the beaches in Cebu pretty much sucks, or you have to pay to go for a swim in mactan.
