I dont get it. Why would you not tip? When you go eat at a restuarant the waitstaff are paid correct? But yet as a courtesy we tip them. When you play in a brick and mortar poker game you tip the dealers right and I am sure if you play the game for a few hours you would have paid at least $10. We tip those girls that bring our drinks in casino or bars a buck or so even if it only takes them a few minutes to get you what you need. Hell, I take 7 hour casino bus trips and we tip the bus driver... we tip taxi drivers, doormen, someone to carry our lugguage to our room or the airport. We tip valet parking... we seem to do alot of tipping

America is the only country in the world where this is true.
You do realise that if you're tipping in the Philippines people are laughing at you, right? There is no culture of tipping in the Philippines, or anywhere in Asia for that matter.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?
Because I dont have to, its not expected or part of the culture, it can have a negative effect on future relations, and I provide enough fun and enjoyment to make the situation positive for her anyways without handing over extra money. I have been in situations where I'm pretty sure if I offered a tip it would of offended the girl or at least made it awkward.
I understand all your arguments but this is the exception to the rule, where as you say because its her 'prized possession' do you really want to put a monetary value on that as an extra. Get over it that your wrong and need to change perceptions about how things like this work, of course if you hand them money they will accept it, but there is another option that you should try too.

if thats your goal potslammer (which i dont think it is) then maybe give his theory a shot..... naw just tip dude its the right thing to do
o and vv u got confused thinking pot said he doesnt tip, he's never been here before, he is just readin silgibsons crazy talk and thinkin maybe thats how it should be, im doing my best to convince him otherwise for the girls sake, like you said a couple pages back THEY DESERVE THE $10, its $10, ten dollars, 1000 pennies, come the F on

I will have to disagree with you with pinoys loling for a foreigners tipping. It is true that Americans basically tip on almost any service given. But philippines is the most western influence asian country and tipping is wildly practiced.

Are you truly that dense? The girl has already accepted the fact that she has give up her body to make money. dont you think she is already expecting a tip afterwards. get over yourself those girls arent whoring themselves because you are providing them some fun.

+1
Although I have zero experience when it comes to hookers, on other service oriented work (spa, salon, restaurant, etc) tipping is generally practiced.

Well, what do you expect? when they all tell him over and over again how Gwapo he is, and how big his c o c k is, of course it's going to inflate his ego and make him actually start to believe all of it after a while.
Of course it's easy for us all to forget, that they are saying the same exact lines to all of us foreigners and so it really is worth a grain of salt.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?
good rule of thumb imo:
if you're going as a tourist, a few days or weeks, tip the girl 300 for average service, 500 for good service, nothing for failing to fulfill her duties. you won't stand out in the crowd. you won't get labeled super kuripot. you will just be another guy. if you do that and treat them well you can have your pick most nights. play the game the way it's set up. don't rock the boat. spend some money. enjoy yourself.
if you're playing the long game it's way different. then you can play the no tipping card, sneakouts only, mall pickups, facebook, ym, friend referral game. but this stuff isn't for new tourists. the bar system may have a lot of ****ty detractors, but most (not all!) bars are a safer haven for tourists to conduct this business. you need to have lots of experience to effectively run the long game. advising a tourist in his first week to do so is not smart imo.
and honestly, one of the benefits of tipping is that it's a sign to get her out the door. k2d is far more likely to have the problem of girls wanting to stay way too long (80%+) of my experiences ended like this. you play the game. you don't abuse them. they think you may be a sucker. then you tip and they leave and you can go on never seeing them again. if you do this with a regular girl you're asking for trouble. win/win.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?
I've come across several guys while over there who have the same philosophy on not tipping.
Basically, they all have a few things in common.
Extremely inflated sense of ego, view the girls as less than human, refer to every girl they've recently bedded as their "girl friend"
In the game of PI p4p, a tip is ALWAYS expected after an acceptable session (you came)
NONE of these girls would work if NOBODY tipped. YOU are not any more "fun" to them than any other 60 year old slob... get over yourself

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?
I never said anything about having a bargirl as a gf k2d. That would be completely different again.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?
so last nights was the same as tuesday nights, she was great fun tuesday bad mood yesterday that sorta killed the vibe, i guess its cuz i tipped!
only tipped half as much last night, almost didnt give anything, probably shouldnt have
from what ive been reading on other boards anyone whose coming over here should read and re-read loosekannes post like 5 times and get that through your head, thats pretty much exactly what the hardcore longtimers on some of the sexpat boards are saying me, loosekannen knows his stuff

its not easy for me to forget, vegas girls are stone cold killers that have no problems letting you know what you really are, plus sometimes when i get out of the shower i see myself naked in the mirror
one thing though i am extremely pale, like if lying on a bed with white sheets u might not see me pale, and i think that somehow the girls over here actually do mean it when they say they like that because they are so obsessed with trying to be as lite as possible
one girl who had perfect tan skin that any american girl would kill for is telling me how she wishes she could have my skin
its a whole different world over here
