Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

is that really a small thing though? you could have to wait an extra hour + because of something like that

im as unconfrontational of a person as youll ever meet but i definitely would call the floor out on something like that

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

It might seem like a small thing, like a micro thing, but its a micro aggression. When you live in a foreign country as long as some of us have and day after day, week, months, years after years this keeps happening, this kind of treatment because its not our country, and it builds up and eventually we don't put up wit it anymore. We either take a stand or leave. (or get kicked out)

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

I know everyone is going to say I am defending the actions taken by fellow country men again. Isn’t it a given practice for allot of Vegas grinders to bribe/tip floor men to move them ahead of the list or to move them to a juicer table? I have actually read about this happening in Vegas at the mid-high stake tables on this site.

As far as all the casinos I have been in Manila especially Hyatt Hotel and Casino were I spent most of my time while in manila, it’s a policy for the security at the door to collect cameras. They also tape your cell's camera lens’s to make you think twice about taking pictures while inside.

Yes, as I mentioned many times I am pinoy. While in Philippines I am never treated as one. For starters I don’t speak the language although I can understand verities of the different dialects. Another reason is that I was told I don’t look/act as a pinoy. It is not that I try to be un-pinoy or anything because I am proud of my heritage.

It is possible that you have been kicked out because you complained as you mentioned but I doubt that is the case. I mean I have seen a white retired westerner get thrown out of Hyatt because he was a drunk. I also saw a rich Singaporean get thrown out of Heritage who had over 1 MIL pesos on a pontoon table get kicked out for being drunk and an ass to the dealers.

yes it's standard for tippers to get preferred seating in USA, especially in Vegas.

If you mean in card rooms I'm not sure about that one. I've spent loads of time in Vegas, probably 15-20 trips and I have never seen that happen.

I've never tried it myself since biggest game i'veplayed in was 2/5. Although as I mentioned i've read that it does happen US casinos. I think first place I've read about it was on mooremoney's thread or Mike Wolfe's when the vegas regs/grinders would chase the fish around by tipping the floor men to get them on the fishes table.

Cant find a decent hair salon either. They all seem to take zero pride in their work. Thais are meticulous in the extreme when comes to cutting hair. imo

Your in Manila right?

I had an awesome haircut at a place right off burgos. It was a super small place, okay price. I had a guy in his early women transformation stages cut my hair. Was flirtatious, but did a good job.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

i definitely disagree about tippers getting to jump lists in vegas, im not sure about the "big games" but in 2-5 or 5-10 its pretty much not gonna happen, if your next on the list and you see someone taking your seat make a fuss and you are gonna get the seat

i would assume its the same in the bigger games cuz they arent gonna wanna piss off any big spenders

Just becuase you disagree with it and that majority of us hates it doesnt mean it doesnt it happen.
If it doesnt happen then I guess you call tell Mike Wolfe he is full of sh$t. He is a pro player as well as writes for some poker magazines. I dont remember the details but to me if a floor men had to be tipped to get preferential treatment then its all the same. We can complain all we want but how often do people actually sit around keeping tract of the list or the order of those people looking to change tables? As to the bigplayers the casinos dont reallycareto much about them in terms of poker. The poker rooms bread and butter are from the low stakes after all the rakes are the same with the high stakes at least at the casinos that I have played in. In the low stakes especially in LHE players can last longer and as time goes by the only winner is the house who will rake all the money if no one re-buys in a 6-8 hour period.

I've honestly never seen it mate and I've spent a sh.it load of time in Vegas playing. In most card room they have the screens up with names on so its all pretty transparent.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

Its transparent ifthe person being seated was o the list but what if somone who was not on the list was quietly given a seat? Also like I said how often do you actually stand in front of the list until you are up next? Most people like myself walk around until we are called. Like I said just becuase it isnt suppose to happen doesnt mean it doesnt. Its like everything else in life, sometimes rules are broken.

There is a reason bellagio used paper for years. Lol if you've played in vegas a significant amount and think this doesn't happen.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

Yea I played mostly at bellagio a few days a week for the ~2 years I lived in Vegas. Maybe it's different now a few years later but I know it went on because I did it myself. (hated the floor ppl at bellagio but did what I had to, it's how it was there)
