^ Did u got to Baloy mate? That's ok as a base to chill for a couple of days.

His alternative as a base is Manila which is a ****hole too in case u did not notice, and Puerto Galera/Sabang is too far for 2 or 3 days imo, but that's just me.

Yeah been to Subic numerous times and enjoy it as a town. But I don't go to Subic with the intention of an island/beach holiday. They are heading to Puerto Princesa afterwards which when compared to Subic is on a different level. So doing stuff like Pinatubo/Taal or even exploring Manila would be better than getting to Subic and suffering massive disappointment that its not a tropical clear water paradise.

Sabang/Puerto Galera might be a little far for a two day holiday but three days is fine. The trip with the right connections can be done in four hours or so and Subic takes around 3 hours from Manila.

+1 for Sabang/Puerto Galera. You can do island hopping/snorkeling/beach bbqing but you can also rent a scooter and cruise up the mountain, enjoy the views, maybe check out the waterfall, or find a secluded beach and relax. Or just hang out at White Beach eating/drinking with girls during the day and them bang them at night.

thanks for the tips guys, keep'em coming!

i'll definitely make sure to check out Sabang/Puerto Galera as well when i know for sure how many days we have to kill before Palawan

My take on Manila is that I haven't heard anyone ever say anything nice about the place and that's pretty much enough for me to not to stay there longer than necessary. Maybe a bit too prejudiced but the whole trip isn't gonna last too long so i'd rather go to places that we're guaranteed to like. Also, not really into massive cities in general and i'll spend a few days in Taipei before philippines, so at that point nature >> multi-million ppl cities

fsn, you are 100% making the right decision not staying in Manila longer than necessary, and this is coming from someone who lives here.

My take on Manila is it's a big city with 1st world conveniences at 3rd world prices and it has a lot of long-term advantages, e.g. dating/relationships, no language barrier, the ability to stay for years without hassle, lots of fun hobbies/activities, etc.

But for a short-term visit, Manila sucks. There's a learning curve for nearly everything, and travelers for the most part just want to see sights and nature (Manila has neither). You're much better off spending your vacation elsewhere in the Philippines for stuff like that.

yup we actually changed our plans a bit and looks like we're only gonna see the manila airport and continue to Palawan straight away. Might stay there for a few days in the end though, and maybe check Taal volcano. Or just go to Subic or Sapang or some other place recommended here

There's an easy way to compare them, right from the comfort of your own home.

Go on Dateinasia.com, choose Thailand for the country, and from the first 10 pages of search results, make a list of all the girls you want to meet. Then do the same for the Philippines. The country that has the longer list wins.

You can also do this on Thailovelinks.com & Filipinocupid.com (same company), and Thaifriendly.com & Pinalove.com (same company). Search by city if you want to be more specific.

Another thing to consider is how many are willing to actually meet up in person. Girls could look great in whatever city but it's pointless if they don't want to meet you. I would recommend that you create accounts at the above sites, message a bunch of girls and see how many replies you get. 100 girls minimum to get a decent idea.

The visa thing is super easy especially if you are used to this Thai bs.

Talking to girls is easier to because they all speak Englidge and easier to find free girls there to imo.

Food is more western to.

I will head back to Phillapines to check out some different spots as didn't really find anywhere I liked.

In Angeles now. Only came here because the lodging was free. It's a lot more developed compared to a couple years ago and the girls are much better. It's not a complete shthole anymore. Quite a nice surprise.
