Warning: Rant about AC vs Pattaya incoming. Stop reading if that doesn't interest you.

so i went back to Pattaya after staying in AC for a week, and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. It's a lot more busto and lower quality than Pattaya, but still costs about the same somehow, how does that work? Unlike in Pattaya I also felt somewhat unsafe walking around at night. Presumably homeless kids surrounding me trying to grab me while asking for money. Ugh. People constantly stalking me asking if I want to buy weapons or drugs. And the gogos were terrible compared to Pattaya, with the possible exception of Atlantis which had some pretty sweet poledancing.

Only upside was that everyone spoke good english.

PS: And the casino/live poker sucked too :P

The live poker will suck, you must table select seriously, and even then... Give the girls a chance. They can be picky but are plentiful. The weakest game gets you dinner and a movie with normal pretty girl in AC. The gogos may disappoint you now but see it for what it is. "nicegirlland" They can be so sweet and feminine... But you must be relentless in separating the wheat from the chaff, but your rewards will be plenty...

i didnt feel unsafe at all in AC except for a 200 meter walk to my hotel down a dark street (even though 3 security guards along the way i doubt theyd do much)

the kids obv arent gonna harm ya, and just tell the guys selling stuff no thank you and keep walking

Did you try to korean room on perimeter? I heard it's good.

The room on fields "Double Aces" or something like that, sucks, there are collusion between players, i think it's rigged or something. avoid it at all cost.

The room in the Wild orchid building (is it called Wild aces or something?) is ok, I could win a bit there, obviously not from nitty locals, but from tourists.

About Pattaya vs AC.
I prefer AC 10x over even though Pattaya hotels and restaurants are better.
I just prefer filippino girls.

Manila is the best though. AC is a ****hole, i wonder how can so many americans choose to retire there ...

Friends, a few questions from a non-US player:

1) Can one obtain permanent residency in the Philippines if they get a job offer?

2) If yes, are online poker winnings tax-free for "residents" of the Philippines?

3) Are any of these sites banned for Philippines' residents: Revolution, Merge, Ongame, Party, Stars, Bodog?

4) What about deposits/withdrawal options: Neteller, Moneybookers, Cheques, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

If flippers could walk in straight lines and cut hair as well as they can speak english I for one would be a happier person.

I fully support the walking in a straight line. the worst is when 3-5 of them link arms and walk slowly taking up the whole sidewalk...

My last two weeks was filled with the unexplainable.

How many times do you have to hit the order button at (insert name of fast food place)?

It took 3 people to figure out one problem and they asked me to buy another item because of their mistake. The best and easiest solution in that case, is to just go ahead and buy another item. You see sometimes you must weigh the headache associated with the first world option which is to make them figure it out against the "easy out for everyone" option which is for me to buy another item... Thankfully it was cheap... However I did not have exact change...

So they add one more person to the mix, its 4 people pencil and paper out and math being attempted because they cant dare touch the register again, the order is already all mucked up. Attempts however were in vain as they couldnt figure it out on paper... Im about 6 minutes into this transaction and finally after giving them a fair shot I say "its 15 pesos change" She hands me a 50... "No sweetie, one five" and bright smile and correct change appears.

I still love the Phils though...
